I have to admit, the action at least looks very impressive. But that CGI still grinds my gears..

Anyway, James Cameron(Director of Piranha II, The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, True Lies, and Titanic) brings Avatar to both IMAX and regular theaters in 3D around the world on December 18th.

idc what people say if its bad, its a movie, be entertained. so waht if the 3D is a gimmick these days....go see a movie just for the fun of it....are those days gone now...movies have to be judged as perfection or master pieces, i liked the dark knight but its not the greatest movie of all time...its a crime thriller with batman characters. and quick question....hows AVATAR a comic book movie?

So, we should go see every movie made and be entertained by it..even if its shite? People with your attitude are the reason Hollywood churn out puke like GI Joe and it still makes gazzillions. I'll make up my own mind about what makes a movie good or bad thank you very much sir!

hahahah, thats the last of winky Himy:-)

The 3-D is all just a gimmick, I guess, but I'm LOVING it. I'll go see almost anything (except concert films) that are in 3-D. This will probably be pretty spectacular in that format.

Although, is it just me, or are CGI effects not as good as they used to be?
I still think the first Starship Troopers, as bad as some parts of the movie was, still has some of the best CGI that's been on film. The bugs actually looked fairly real. And that was 11 years ago...

I'm not quick to judge a movie I haven't seen. This has some similarities with Aliens. Like the mech suit and the space programs ran by corporations.

@anil: by what you just said, did you really say tht clash of the titans is going to be better than this. sry but the clash of the titans remake looks like a huge piece of shit loaded with testosterone.
MarkCassidy
MarkCassidy - 11/20/2009, 2:46 PM
So? This looks a like an unoriginal, badly scripted mess loaded with smurfs! Clash looks 1000 times better than this, but they could both be shit/great..who knows.

JAMES CAMERON is the STAN LEE, the TRIPLE XXX, the EVEL KNIEVEL, the PATTON, the MICHEAL JORDAN of the MOVIE BUSINESS ....

@hescian did you like the Hannah Montana movie in 3D?

I won't say this looks bad, it just looks mediocre or passable, not the movie to split movie history in two, something even bigger than the invention of cinema, bla, bla, bla...

And yes completely unoriginal story just makes it even worse.

I seriously can't wait for Kick-Ass

@Gose: im pretty sure Steven Spielberg is THAT of the movie business, not james cameron lol
