Here's the complete synopsis for the Dr. Who Christimas Special courtesy of Combom.

It's Christmas Eve, 1938, when Madge Arwell comes to the aid of an injured Spaceman Angel as she cycles home, in this year's Doctor Who Christmas Special, starring Matt Smith as the Doctor.

He promises to repay her kindness – all she has to do is make a wish.

Three years later, a devastated Madge escapes war-torn London with her two children for a dilapidated house in Dorset. She is crippled with grief at the news her husband has been lost over the channel, but determined to give Lily and Cyril the best Christmas ever.

The Arwells are surprised to be greeted by a madcap caretaker whose mysterious Christmas gift leads them into a magical wintry world. Here, Madge will learn how to be braver than she ever thought possible. And that wishes can come true...

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television program produced by the BBC. The program depicts the adventures of a time-traveling humanoid alien known as the Doctor who explores the universe in a sentient time machine called the TARDIS that flies through time and space, whose exterior appears as a blue police box. Along with a succession of companions, he faces a variety of foes while working to save civilizations, help people, and right wrongs.

The program is listed in Guinness World Records as the longest-running science fiction television show in the world, and as the "most successful" science fiction series of all time, in terms of its overall broadcast ratings, DVD and book sales, iTunes traffic, and "illegal downloads". It has been recognized for its imaginative stories, creative low-budget special effects during its original run, and pioneering use of electronic music (originally produced by the BBC Radiophonic Workshop). The show is a significant part of British popular culture in the United Kingdom, and elsewhere it has become a cult television favorite. The show has influenced generations of British television professionals, many of whom grew up watching the series. It has received recognition from critics and the public as one of the finest British television program, including the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series in 2006, and five consecutive wins at the National Television Awards from 2005 to 2010, in the Drama category while under Russell T Davies' reign as executive producer. In 2011 Matt Smith became the first actor to be nominated for a BAFTA for portraying the Doctor, but lost to Daniel Rigby.

Steven Moffat ruined Doctor Who. Just give it to someone else, or axe it and bring it back when you have better people to run it.

Excited!

@LMB10 - Best episode of the Tennant era : Blink (written by Moffat). Doctor Who looked and felt cheap until Moffat was brought on board.

@LMB10- What? Moffat saved Doctor Who, before he came on board the show was cheesy and childish, Moffat made the show more serious, dark and adult.

Russell T. Davies is the DW version of Joel Schumacher and Steven Moffat is the DW version of Christopher Nolan.

Series 5 was awesome. But I really feel that Steven Moffat and co. dropped the ball on Series 6. I'm anxiously waiting for series 7... I love Doctor Who, but I personally feel this last series was a bit of a let down.

Whoa whoa whoa. I think everybody is confused here. Russell T. Davies is the DW version of Tim Burton, while Moffat is the Christopher Nolan of DW. Both are great, and very difficult to decipher who is better in the universe. One has one take on the series, while the other has a different take on the same series.
