In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a "looper" – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to "close the loop," sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.

That still doesn't answer my question: How does a Looper actually get the job if he's dealing with people from the future?

I'm interested in this only because I'm perplexed..

My main question is, why the hell send your enemies back in time to be murdered? Why not just murder them in the future? Instead they send them back in time where there's a chance they escape and then change the future?!?

The concept seems flawed...

@SmokenOaken just watch the movie, not a flawed concept.

It's hard to dispose of bodies in the future cuz they have some sort of tracking chips or something like that in them. So send the people back in time so no body can be found in the future and technically they wont exist in the past so its sort of a win win.

The concept is pretty cool actually.
