Eccleston was my first Doctor so he'll always be my favorite. That said Tennant was absolutely amazing. Smith took a while to grown on me but I enjoyed Clara and the Ponds

Sigh - ignoring history is so sad - especially when it's about time travel.

This is what happens when geek goes pop culture

The doctor is not a melodramatic fancy boy, the doctor doesn't get scared, the best 'modern' doctor is Matt Smith since he is the one that harkens back to the heart of the doctor, a man saving the universe, but always having fun, never scared, hardly ever serious (save at those rare moments they need be). Tenants doctor was a soap opera doctor, the doctor doesnt' 'fall in love' with his companions - it's just nonsense - Russell T Davies may have made the doctor popular but just like comic book movies are not COMIC BOOK movies, the modern Doctor Who is a pale comparison to the original classic Doctor, and Matt Smith is the one that harkens back best to the true doctors

@ Dellamorte

Capaldi was in 'the fires of Pompeii', which it's very much a TENNANT story. Can always tell a Johnny come lately by which doctors they put down, and their basic lack of knowledge.

@dellamorte1872
Even though being a nerd is suppose to be about loving what you love there are a lot of nerds that hate on other people's love even of the same franchise because it isn't what they love about it or because they don't understand the greatness of the original run of the show.

Liam Neson was my favorite Doctor Who. I don't know if you guys remember the Doctor Who TV movie from the early 90's but Neson played the good Doctor.

Archangel82 Liam Neson never played The Doctor. It was Paul McGann who played him in the 90's movie. They even brought him back for a mini episode right before the big anniversary episode. Check it out.
