In the wake of the tragic passing of Jason David Frank, the original Green Ranger, his former Mighty Morphin Power Rangers co-stars and a number of members of the extended Power Rangers family have shared tributes to the late actor, who reportedly took his own life on Sunday.

Original MMPR castmates Austin St. John, David Yost, Amy Jo Johnson, and Walter Jones have all expressed their sorrow in touching messages, along with Paul Schrier, Jason Narvy, Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley, Johnny Yong Bosch, Catherine Sutherland, and David J. Felding.

In a statement to TMZ, Jones also added, "He was an inspiration to so many people. His presence will be dearly missed. It’s so sad to lose another member of our Ranger family. Jason was one of the biggest pranksters on the show. He had a wild sense of humor. We had our shares of ups and downs but I stayed consistent about being an ear if he needed one. My prayers go out to his family and all that will miss him."

We've also compiled messages from his extended Ranger family, including Nakia Burrise, Blake Foster, Selwyn Ward, Christopher Khayman Lee, Jason Faunt, Erin Cahill, Michael Copon, Alyson Kiperman, Kevin Duhaney, Ciara Hanna, Brennan Mejia, Peter Sudaro, Ludi Lin, Jazz Baduwalia, and Russell Curry.

So sad. Just goes to show you never know what someone is going through, Rip.

He was clearly loved and a big part of all our childhoods.

@UniqNo - If only he knew how much he meant to us. I know how it feels to be lost in depression. It's not something you can just snap out of. We really should reach out to each other more and have a little chat. Sometimes friendly conversation can halt a lot of pain. I have no idea how much pain he was in, but it was a great deal. Damnit. We just lost Kevin Conroy, now this?

@UniqNo - I'm glad I grew up during the 90s. We had some great icons. Kevin Conroy and now Jason David Frank. They were big during our childhoods.

@SonOfAGif - in hind sight, before the explosion of the Internet, social media, streaming and everything 'on demand' we really did live life at a different speed.
For years my saturday morning cartoons/shows consisted of battle borgs samurai pizza cats, teknoman and of course MMPR all the way up to PR Turbo with Tommy. Man I even remember going to watch both ranger movies in cinema and remember really enjoying Turbo more than Men In Black where it showed as a double feature that summer.

Depression is really a silent killer. Just talking about that shit helps.

@DarthOmega - For sure. I still haven't fully gotten over Chester from Linkin Park and always presented himself as happy. You really never know what someone is going through.

Damn first Conroy and then Jason. Power Rangers were a huge part of my childhood so he'll always be the legendary Green Ranger for me, may he rest in power.

Still in shock over this... always felt like he had a chance to continue with his character. It's crazy how much of an effect he had on people, hopefully it will last forever.

RIP

I didn't grow up with the Jason David Frank-era of Power Rangers, and I only came to know him when I got older through the internet, so there isn't that connection for me here. But all this pouring love for him is enough to tell me how much of a great and influential person he truly was for many people. May he rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, Legends. Thank you for all that you've done.

Almost every 90s kid grew up watching MMPR. It was a huge phenomenon that I have yet to see anything come close to since then. JDF knew how much he meant to the fans and continued the legacy well after he was no longer a regular. Kevin Conroy's passing hurt but this one hit me even harder. He was a huge influence in my life as a kid and is what got me interested in martial arts and superheroes. It hits closer to home knowing his inner struggles and how he passed.

Rest in Power JDF. Thank you for everything.

He embraced his role and everything that came with it with open arms. He was all in and you gotta love and respect that. Rest easy JDF.

We would come home from school. The whole way home we were acting like Rangers. We had the toys, the T-Shirts, the back packs, and every week we got to choose who would be Tommy. It was great when he became the White ranger because now two of us could be Tommy. In short. Tommy was everyone's favorite ranger.

The rangers never bullied, they fought as a team, and even though it was corny, they always had a message at the end. The rangers were gay, female, black, Asian... None of it mattered. They were all in it together just like us.

This one hurts ngl. I have to introduce my daughters to the O.G cast. Yesterday my youngest asked me who he was because she saw me down for a bit. I said he was one of the greatest heroes of my childhood. This really sucks.

Suicide is not the answer. Please seek help.

@DarthOmega - I think that's why society today is so angry, disgruntled, and divided. People forgot to work as a team and understand we are all in this together. It's easy to point fingers at one another and ignore the real villains behind the scenes. But working together and accepting one another is what seems to be the current debacle.

@SonOfAGif - Its literally the only way. The other way is us destroying each other. Ngl, I often get pissed online. But then I realize I'm arguing with strangers I will never meet, and don't affect my life I'm the slightest. Imagine if I replaced all of that negativity with positivity. Imagine how much better my day would be. May sound like hippie Dippie shit, but I'm convinced it works. It would be a hell of a lot easier if the media, and politicians would stop playing such a massive role in division.

I don't think people realize just how cool the Green Ranger was among kids and their friends in the 90's. I mean, LITERALLY everyone wanted to be the Green Ranger. RIP JDF. You've made an everlasting impression on all of our childhoods.

I'm still mad. This [frick]ing sucks.

For everyone asking me to explain on the other post... no.

I will say this, Jason David Frank was a legit hero if mine I've followed and loved most of my life. If you guys followed him, you know this is completely bullshit out of left field. Jason's entire mantra for life was tattoo on him and emblazoned all over his life, "JESUS DIDNT TAP". Positivity overcoming adversity was his entire energy and he dedicated his life to it.

Dude should not be dead right now. This is guttingly unfair to everything JDF was, everything has entire life was about. His story should never have ended this way.

I'm getting flash backs to when I heard about Chris Benoit and I'm just like WTF!!! NO!
