After announcing a new partnership with Hasbro yesterday, Saban Brands have now revealed their plans for the future of the long-running Power Rangers franchise with the official announcement of the show's 26th season: Power Rangers Beast Morphers

Beast Morphers will draw its inspiration from Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, the 36th entry in the Super Sentai franchiseand will make its debut on Nickelodeon in early 2019. The series will be the first in the entire franchise to receive products from Hasbro Inc. and will also be the first Power Rangers series where the Rangers don leather suits instead of the traditional spandex.

Here's the official synopsis:

"Set in the future, a secret agency combines a newly discovered substance called “Morph-X” with animal DNA to create the Power Rangers Beast Morphers team. The Rangers must fight off an evil sentient computer virus bent on taking over the source of all Ranger power, the Morphin Grid itself. Featuring never-before-seen leather suits and an all-new beast-themed arsenal (including dynamic new Zords), fans should get ready for a season full of secret ops and morphinominal fun."

I get that they're keeping it how it always was....but man i wish this show changed its style up. There are animated shows all over TV with critical acclaim but this is always the same.

@Kevwebsz - I watched Power Rangers SPD on Netflix not too long ago (I never saw it, I lost interest in PR after In Space). it's a hell of an enjoyable ride, the Rangers are actual adults (20 somethings but still older than teenagers) and they're a space police force from the future. the action and coreography is pretty kick-ass, and it has its darker moments too.

so, it does change a little sometimes, you just have to dig to find something of your liking. not that liking PR is a requirement or anything :P

I also like Lightspeed Rescue, from what very little I've seen. those Rangers shot first and ask questions later, no chill. they defeat the first monster by just drawing their weapons and shooting him several times until it explodes, no martial arts.

@Kevwebsz - Power Rangers takes a Japanese show referred to as Super Sentai. They cut up the footage and splice in American footage.

It's cheap to do.

That is why things are the same.

These designs are terrible. It looks like they have sunglasses.

And why does the yellow one look like a Pikachu?

"Its Morphin' Time!"

"Lion!"
"Gorilla!"
"Pikachu!"

One of these days, they're going to need to do something that really shakes up fans' expectations. One such idea? An ANIMATED Power Rangers series.

@Spidey91 - Yeah--but the Rangers don't travel across the universe as much. And their mechs aren't uniform in design.

@Nerdman3000 - Dino Thunder unfortunately turned me off of PR.
I do appreciate it for going back to it's MMPR roots but watching it made me realize how stupid the original was and that it was something I had grown out of.
