POWER RANGERS NINJA STEEL Announced For 2018; DINO SUPER CHARGE Premiere Date Revealed
The Power Rangers have been around for over twenty-three years and now they've essentially been renewed for at least two more seasons with Power Rangers Ninja Steel. Come check it out!
Earlier today, Saban Brands (via IGN) announced their plans for the future of the Power Rangers franchise with the announcement of Power Rangers Ninja Steel, which will be the 24th season in their long-running series. The upcoming iteration will make its debut on Nickelodeon in early 2017, likely around the same time the Lionsgate-produced movie hits theaters. The series will likely draw its inspiration from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger, the 39th entry in the Super Sentai franchise, and you can view a photo of that team of heroes above.
Here's the official description of the new series:
"Saban's Power Rangers Ninja Steel starts deep in space, where Zircon is the reigning champion of the most popular intergalactic game show in the universe, and monsters battle to prove who is the mightiest warrior. Zircon is determined to become invincible by controlling the mythical Spirit Crystal, which contains six supernatural Ninja Power Throwing Stars. The only thing standing in his way is a new team of heroic teenage Power Rangers who possess the Spirit Crystal. The evil Zircon sends his warrior contestants down to Earth to steal the Crystal, where each epic battle against the Rangers is broadcast throughout the universe. Together, the Rangers must master their arsenal of Throwing Stars, Zords and Megazords, each made of legendary ninja steel, in order to stop this evil threat and save our planet from destruction."
Before the Ninja Steel rangers morph into action, the Dino Charge rangers have some unfinished business to attend to. IGN also revealed today that the 23rd season in the Power Rangers franchise, Power Rangers Dino Super Charge, will premiere on Saturday, January 30 at 12 PM ET/PT on Nickelodeon. The team will consist of 10 Rangers, a first in franchise history. Here's the first photo from the upcoming season:
Additionally, Saban Brands have renewed their partnership with Nickelodeon to air the show through 2018, which seemingly squashes those rumors about the series moving to Netflix.
