Prey is the newest entry in the Predator franchise, and we have a new batch of official stills from the Hulu Original (via SFFGazette.com) before it arrives on the streaming service on August 5.
While they stop short of showing the movie's Predator, Amber Midthunder (Legion) is given the spotlight as the hunted becomes the hunter and she takes aim at the formidable alien. Set during the 1700s in the Comanche Nation, everything we see here looks extremely authentic and we know the filmmakers were committed to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and brings a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples.
Prey tells the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains.
So when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
The movie is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan), and also stars newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), Julian Black Antelope (Tribal), and Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories) as the Predator.
The social embargo for Prey lifts on July 21 at 10pm PT, while the reviews will land on August 6 at 9am PT. We've seen the movie, and you'll want to keep a close eye on SFFGazette.com for those first reactions. We also caught up with the movie's cast and crew, and will be bringing you those interviews nearer that August 5 release date.
