Prey is the newest entry in the Predator franchise, and we have a new batch of official stills from the Hulu Original (via SFFGazette.com) before it arrives on the streaming service on August 5.

While they stop short of showing the movie's Predator, Amber Midthunder (Legion) is given the spotlight as the hunted becomes the hunter and she takes aim at the formidable alien. Set during the 1700s in the Comanche Nation, everything we see here looks extremely authentic and we know the filmmakers were committed to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and brings a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples.

Prey tells the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior who has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains.

So when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

The movie is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (10 Cloverfield Lane), written by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan), and also stars newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (Sooyii), Michelle Thrush (The Journey Home), Julian Black Antelope (Tribal), and Dane DiLiegro (American Horror Stories) as the Predator.

The social embargo for Prey lifts on July 21 at 10pm PT, while the reviews will land on August 6 at 9am PT. We've seen the movie, and you'll want to keep a close eye on SFFGazette.com for those first reactions. We also caught up with the movie's cast and crew, and will be bringing you those interviews nearer that August 5 release date.

For now, you can take a look at these new stills from the movie below:

@CaptainMexico - same here. The premise is definitely unique in my opinion and thus has my interest

I hope it doesn’t end up with a 90 lb girl overpowering and beating him hand to hand.

@JobinJ - don’t dismiss girl power

@JobinJ - I see this comment as a complete comparison to someone like Manny Pacquiao not beating the absolute shit out of someone like Ronnie Coleman purely because of his size.

Just for reference, Pacquiao would completely smoke Coleman in their primes at half Coleman’s body weight, mass and height.

To quote my girlfriend, size matters not. 🥲

@JobinJ - none of the leads beat the predator with physical prower, not even Dutch

beat the predator by outsmarting them.

Every time it went to hand to hand with dutch he got his ass kicked

@JobinJ - I mean, considering from Arnold to Brody the defeat of the predator has always been more strategic, I really don't see that happening.

@Se4M4NSt4ine - This doesn't make sense. Comparing Manny to a 90 lb Native American girl with probably moderate fighting skills and low levels of physical strength doesn't work.

Comparing Ronnie Coleman, a strong guy with probably very little fighting and combat skills to a trained and seasoned PREDATOR, that is 7 feet tall and has been fighting and hunting his whole life is just as dumb.

@Supersperm - a 200lb man would be just as hilarious. It's like any human on earth trying to go up against a bear. You have to fight with your head and not your muscles.

@Godzilla2000Zer - That movie seemed so uninteresting to me. Coupled with the reception I just didn't watch it. But I'm usually easier to please than most people, so who knows, maybe I'll enjoy it.

@Fares - I'd personally advise against as a fan of the Predator franchise that film is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen but just my opinion. This one looks way better.
