When the studio decided to move forward with a sequel to the stagnant
Predator franchise, fans were a bit hesitant. However, when studio later annonced that Shane Black -- who played a marine in the original 1987 film -- was coming on to helm the reboot, it was met with general praise by fans and critics alike. Director Shane Black has confirmed that he isn't attempting to reinvent the franchise so much as he wants to simply give audiences everything they have come to expect from the series, but on a much larger scale. Check out what's in store for fans with the featurette below, released courtesy of AMC Theatres on Twitter:
"
After 30 years of Predator movies, it's the right time to resurrect the franchise. I'm blessed to have the opportunity to play in that sandbox," Black noted in an interview with Movieweb.com back in August. "
We love growing this thing. We're trying to encompass, in one movie, all the genre things that we love."
Synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the
Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.
