Prometheus may not have lived up to the expectations of hardcore Alien fans, but it did perform well at the box office and received mostly positive reviews from critics. The DVD and Blu-ray goes on sale next month in the UK and US, and it is expected to be packed full of special features. Ahead of that release, Hey U Guys have exclusively revealed the following video, although where it's from and what exactly it is isn't clear. It actually appears to be some sort of transmission and focuses solely on Idris Elba's 'Captain Janek'. Check it out below and sound off with your thoughts and theories in the usual place!

fun. love all the "viral" marketing...even after the fact!

much as i love the blue collar nature of the Nostromos in Alien, I kind of can't believe some of the ragtag miscreants chosen by Weyland...

Hmmm I wonder what the 1984 that flashed on the screen means?

Eagerly awaiting the BLU RAY release. I was disappointed in the film to a degree when I saw it the first time but since then I watched it two additional times and I enjoyed it more with each subsequent viewing. I am hoping the BLU RAY gives us at least a couple of additional bits to help make more sense of certain sequences. (crossing fingers)

BEAUTIFUL film, btw - I thought the soundtrack was really nice, too. As much I had hoped the film would be better all-around, I still enjoyed it more than TDKR. I give it a solid 8.

The more i think about it the more i realize that while things hapened in Pometheus nothing actually HAPPENED. None of the set ups were ever paid off and every piece of the story was left hanging. I went in hoping for maybe SOME answers regarding Alien but it neer even answeres any of the questions posed in the film itself, its like the3rd act of this movie was just cut out.

I feel like they should've cared about the movie itself more than they do about this shitty elaborate viral campaign that nobody really cares about, since of course they don't care about the movie.

@JStark

I think your friend might be a liar. The whole "Space Jesus" thing has been out on the internet for months now. And Ridley Scott said that he rejected the idea pretty much because it was too hokey and stupid.

Loved the movie.

@godzilla - i'm understanding you don't like the whole mankind creation thing?

I don't think that's a problem, i just didnt like some stupid shit some characters did. Nothing serious, didnt ruin the movie imo.

@Godzillafart - hmm but we saw their method, not how many times that was done here. About the black goo, that's supposed to be some substance that breaks dna structure, something we haven't discovered yet. What did you expect, they inseminating a chimpanzee or something?

I don't think that would disqualify the movie from being a true sci-fi. We don't know hot to create replicants or flying cars like in Blade Runner or Hal-9000, and no one would think on disregarding BR or 2001 as sci-fi.

@JSTark....What else did your friend tell you...? I never heard about scott making 3. 2 was always the plan, since Fox talked him to directing anyway. More info would be cool! @ lokibane2012....I wouldn't say rejected, he plans to use that storyline for Paradise actually. He's revealed that much just not what caused the gods mission to earth to be stopped or by "what". He's also hinted that Paradise will be an "Aliens" type of sequel. Larger Scale... More Gods, More Creatures, Their home planet, and more answers... Lets hope we get the 2nd soon or a directors cut that we all like more then the finished film
