Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt has stated that it's his hope that the projected new series of Apes films will ultimately dovetail with the original Planet of the Apes. That essentially the future world will be the same one that Charlton Heston's George Taylor arrives on in the 1968 flick.

Additionally, Wyatt has stated that the next film will likely take place about eight years in the future and feature a more urban warfare setting -- Full Metal Jacket with apes is the catch phrase being bandied about.

So the question posed to fans of the film is in what direction do YOU think the next Apes film should go in? Additionally, What are your thoughts about Rise and its sequels leading to the world as seen in the original Planet?
