We can't quite believe it's been two decades since we last had a RoboCop video game on consoles, but that's set to change next year with RoboCop: Rogue City. Coming our way from Nacon, the first gameplay footage has been revealed, and this first-person shooter definitely looks like it will deliver an intense, action-packed experience.

Along with gunning down enemies, it looks like we'll be able to slam bad guys into the surrounding environment, making short work of them in a suitably brutal fashion.

The biggest shocker, however, may be the inclusion of original RoboCop actor Peter Weller. He's reprising the role here after last lending his voice to his most iconic role in Mortal Kombat 11, and we're guessing this will serve as something of a loose sequel to those iconic movies.

"Welcome to Detroit; crime runs rampant as the city lies on the edge of ruin, people fighting for scraps as others live extravagant lives of luxury," reads the synopsis. "Control of the Detroit Police Department is given to the Omni Consumer Products corporation in an attempt to restore order. You are that solution, RoboCop, a cyborg tasked with protecting the city."

The triumphant return of RoboCop wouldn't feel right without the man who brought so much life into the role, so Weller's return is definitely welcomed. Hopefully, this game won't be as disappointing as the title characters last big screen outing.

RoboCop: Rogue City is coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC sometime in June 2023.

A first person shooter where the main protagonist moves with all the urgency of an arthritic octogenarian at a Cracker Barrel.

Now there is an actor who cannot be replaced. Peter Weller captured the subtlety and vulnerabilities of Robocop so well that without him in the role the character seriously loses something.

Not many actors cannot be replaced in a role.

Stallone is Rocky
Schwarzenneger is Terminator
Weller is Robocop

Think RoboCop is a great basis for a video game. Think many potential mechanics will translate well to a game if done well. Also great that Weller returns

I may be the only one but I wish this wasn't an FPS.

Rest In Peace Paulie Walnuts (Paul Siricio) 79 years old.

All the mobsters are dying.
God must be getting ready to make one hell of a gangster picture
He already had James Gandolfini
Now he has added
- Ray Liotta
- James Caan
- Paulie Siricio

If DeNiro or Pesci die then we know it’s going to be a blockbuster.

Off Topic:

The director of “Lightyear” is criticizing the fans for the failure of his movie.

“I don’t get it, but whatever. Folks seem pretty steamed about the film. We only get 1-2 big science fiction movies a year. The supply is too low to get too upset about them. Life is too short”

@SpaceParanoids - Dude made a mid-movie and is blaming the public? lol
IMO Soul and Luca (haven't seen Turning Red) would have done better than Lightyear in theaters, they had heart, a unique message, and whimsy.

I hope it has a part where a guy is thrown out a window and has abnormally long arms.

@AnthonyVonGeek - I hope it has a part where a guy gets doused in toxic chemicals, starts to melt, then gets run over by a car and splatters all over the place.
That'd be sweet.
