Ahead of their New York Comic-Con appearance today, Ryan Reynolds and 20th Century Fox released a first look teaser poster for Shawn Levy's upcoming sci-fi action comedy
Free Guy, which stars the
Deadpool 2 actor as a bank teller who discovers that he's a background character in an open world video game that's on the verge of going offline.
While a trailer is likely still a few months out, Reynolds did release a hilarious new cast reveal announcement featuring him with a few of his castmates, including
Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi. The pair proceed to share their appreciation for one another and their excitement to work together "
for the very first time ever," which is a claim met with some skepticism from their castmates.
In addition to Reynolds and Waititi, the cast features Jodie Comer (
Killing Eve), Joe Keery (
Stranger Things), Lil Rel Howery (
Get Out) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (
Mulan).
The film opens July 3, 2020.
FREE GUY tells the story of a lonely bank teller who discovers he is actually a background character in the open-world video game Free City.
