SILO Season 2 Coming In 2024, According To Book Series Author

With the Season 1 finale of Silo leaving us with even more unexplained questions about the dystopian world, we thankfully won't have to wait too long for the second season of the sci-fi drama.

Season 1 of Silo came to a thrilling conclusion this week. Some of our biggest questions were finally answered but the cliffhanger ending has left us wanting more. Thankfully, Apple TV+ has already confirmed we'll be getting a second season of the hit world-building, sci-fi drama. And it's coming sooner than many of us thought!

Wool series author Hugh Howey wrote on the SIlo Facebook fan page that the second season of the series is set to premiere in 2024. That's quite a refreshingly quick turnaround these days and one that's certainly unexpected given the current state of Hollywood right now.

While the ongoing writer's strike and possible impending actor's strike have already disrupted the production of many series and movies, Howey confirmed that the second season of Silo was already written before the first season was even released. This allowed for the filming of the second season to already begin.

Assuming there are no unexpected delays we can look forward to returning to the dystopian universe of Silo at some point next year. As we're already in July, it's likely that Season 2 will premiere later in 2024, perhaps Fall or Winter.

Based on Hugh Howey’s New York Times bestselling trilogy of novels, Silo is set in a dystopian future where the last ten thousand people on Earth live in a mile-deep home that protects them from the toxic and deadly world outside. No one in the silo knows when or why it was built, nor when they may be allowed to leave as it's believed that the outside world is uninhabitable.

In a ruined and toxic future, thousands live in a giant silo deep underground. After its sheriff breaks a cardinal rule and residents die mysteriously, engineer Juliette (Rebecca Ferguson) starts to uncover shocking secrets and the truth about the silo.

Silo stars Rebecca Ferguson as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who unexpectedly becomes the new sheriff of the silo. Seeking answers about a loved one's murder, she "tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don't kill you, the truth will."

For the entirety of the first season, we've followed Juliette on a heart-pounding journey to uncover the truth about the silo. In the finale, we finally got some answers, although there's still plenty we need answers to.

The first season of Silo is based on the first half of Howey's Wool novel, which means Season 2 will likely follow the second half of the book. It's possible that the second season will also incorporate elements from Shift, a prequel novel to Wool, and Dust, the third and final arc of the series that concludes the story.

N____ WHAT?!?! Who the fukc can't get AppleTV+? Nearly the entire world owns an iPhone and you're telling me that those same people don't have enough to afford cheap-ass AppleTV? Is this a joke?

"Too many people can't ge"...Are you serious? Like are you fukcin serious? Apple tv is $7. Netflix's top price is almost three times that. Jesus, you've made me become a shill for them. Like 'em or dislike 'em - it doesn't matter, saying it's hard to get is an outright lie. You say intelligent shit often on here that I often agree with, so it's weird that you would say something like that.

"My TV is a 2016 Sony. I can't get it." - @DocSpock

(I wish I had seen this sooner.) I got a 2010 Sony. I also have a PS5, and had a PS4 before the 5.

Ain't no way in hell you can't get Apple tv...

We're two people without tvs released in the last 6 years, and yet one of us has access to Apple's streaming service. I bet there are a lot of people out there with tvs as old as yours, and can still get it. These shows wouldn't get renewals if no one was watching, as you claim.

It just doesn't make sense for everyone. I have a perfectly functioning 75" 2016 Sony smart TV. I am not going to get a whole nother TV just to get Apple TV. If my Sony was 2018 or later, I could get this on it. I have an Iphone, but I don't & won't watch TV or movies on my phone.

I am talking about people not being able to get it without buying a new TV. And many, if not most, people don't watch movies on their damn phone.

Get a grip.

Truly my favorite show of the year. It's brilliant. The ending was AWESOME. the cast is impeccable. The writing is insanely good. And most of all, Rebecca Ferguson is a genius. And absolute master at her craft. She deserves all the acclaim this series is getting.

And to see the author posting gleefully on reddit about the finale and season 2. Thank God they wrote it already!!! I couldn't wait 2 [frick]ing years to continue where this season ultimstely leaves us. I couldn't wait for each new episode each week and the wait felt truly miserable. Amazing show. Staying book free because this was too great for me to spoil storywise.
