According to The Hollywood Reporter, young English actress Raffey Cassidy (Snow White And The Huntsman, Dark Shadows) has landed a key role in Disney's very secretive science fiction film Tomorrowland, which was co-written by Damon Lindelof and will be directed by Brad Bird. George Clooney is set to star in the film (which is said to be in the vein of Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters Of The Third Kind), with Hugh Laurie on board to play the antagonist. Cassidy will play "a young girl robot who has been around for decades. Also a key factor: she knows several fighting styles. She has a previous relationship with Clooney’s character, a bitter inventor." Filming is expected to begin in August, so expect more casting news to come soon. Tomorrowland is set to hit theaters December 19th, 2014.
