Star Trek is one of the most iconic franchises in pop culture history. I think its time to review all of the major motion pictures.

Star Trek has been around for fifty plus years now. Wow. That's incredible. I am a huge Trek fan, but I wouldn't consider myself one of those 'trek purists'. I remember watching Star Trek The Next Generation with my dad on the weekends when I was a kid, and I got hooked. As I get older, I find myself getting more and more drawn to Star Trek, but that doesn't stop my love for Star Wars. (You can love both franchises, folks).  So I figured, why not review one Star Trek movie per week?

So this first episode of Star Trek Saturday, I knock out the one that started it all: Star Trek: The Motion Picture...which turns 37 this year. Full review below:

So what did you think of Star Trek: The Motion Picture?

1) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan
2) Star Trek
3) Star Trek: First Contact
4) Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
5) Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
6) Star Trek: Beyond
7) Star Trek III: The Search for Spock
8) Star Trek: Into Darkness
9) Star Trek: Generations
10) Star Trek: Nemesis
11) Star Trek: The Motion Picture
12) Star Trek V: The Final Frontier
13) Star Trek: Insurrection

The first seven are the ones I consider the best ones. Generations and Into Darkness have some good moments but are really flawed. The others I consider to be the actual bad ones though The Motion Picture and Nemesis aren't terrible but they're not really good. But the last two I consider to be pretty bad.

@tb86 - The Director's Cut/Special Edition of "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" is excellent - updated special effects and, more importantly, great editing choices that make the film much better (Kirk's reaction to the transporter accident - "Oh my god" - was mercifully cut, for example). The Special Edition I would put high on the list (theatrical edition above "Nemesis" - worst STNG film

Nemesis isn't good but at least it's not boring.
