Longtime Trekkies claim that the new Star Trek film is just "fun" and "watchable."

Before any of you get too upset about all of this, I want you to keep in mind that this is the Onion News Network. It's a parody news broadcast. This is sarcastic, and is in no way their real opinion (officially).

I loved the movie. But what I loved even more was seeing grown men and women dress up as their favorite alien (some realy don't need make up) ready to be disappointed by the movie, for lack of interstellar politics. Yeah that's just what we need. "Bush in space!" the movie. They bitch a litte, they moan a lot, they still live with their mother but most of all they just didn't give this star trek flick a chance.
I for one hope they make more. Just wanna see more of this action packed film. Let me see kirk screwing every alien race out there. Scotty [frick]ing up a transport and creating a donkeyfacedchickenpinguin. Spock fingerbanging Uhura in the shuttle bay and bones being sewed for mall practice.
I don't care. But show me the money baby, cause i liked it!

Oohw and @ Shibazz. FIRST!

I have never been a fan of Star Trek what so ever. I have seen a couple episodes when i was younger(Im 22) but never got into the show or movies. This movie knocked it out of the water big time. This movie was just down right excellent and JJ Abrams I think directed it really well.

This was good but it was an alternate time line & my change some things going forward. But its not the same as the previous show or movies. There was something missing thou that the other previous before this had. The action was great & good story but I do fell like something was missing!!!! Can't put my finger on it @ the moment. Will come back later.

I agree with spock, i really enjoyed the movie (minus spock and uhura making out, HES A VULCAN!) but something wasn't there. Maybe it was the fact that it wasn't cheesy at all which I do love about old trek.

This want I've been saying all along lets get passed the old stuff & move forward. Same goes for Star Wars.
Thou Iam still a Trekkie... Over all I did like the movie.

Here we go, "Some reviews I have read imply that this was the only way to breath new life into a dead franchise. I couldn't disagree more. Trek fans who have read novels by Peter David or Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens can tell you that there are WAY better storylines out there and if Hollywood wanted to truly make good Trek movies they would hire better talent to write the scripts. Why not make a new ship with a new crew, set after Star Trek: Nemesis? Why go back to square one when so many more possibilities are available AFTER Nemesis? I'll tell you why. Because the names Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Enterprise fills theater seats thanks to work done years ago by GOOD writers, directors, and actors that Hollywood is unable reproduce because they are more interested in selling recycled garbage." My wife loved this movie. In fact it pissed her off that it made her cry in the opening sequence. But she was hooked after that.

I personally think you should go out of your way @LEEE777 &@spideysweb to take your wives to see this. I think they will have a great time....

But then again, my wife hates chick flicks....HATES them.

I feel like the oddball out. My gf was the one who's a major Trekkie. I was the one who didn't like Star Trek. She's the one who got me hooked into seeing this movie.
