UPDATE: The Crew Of The Enterprise Return In First Trailer For STAR TREK BEYOND

If you fancy an unofficial first look at the trailer for Justin Lin's Star Trek Beyond, here you go! This teaser takes a fairly light-hearted approach, and is set to the Beastie Boys' "Sabotage". UPDATE: an official English version of the teaser has now been released...

Following those images from last night, the full trailer for Star Trek Beyond has leaked online. It's good quality, but unfortunately not in English - though you should still manage to get a pretty good idea of what's going on.

This first teaser definitely seems to be promoting a lighter tone than Into Darkness, but there are also some more dramatic looking shots that really don't gel with the music they've chosen. Anyway, it's great to see the crew again and Sofia Boutella's character looks to be a welcome addition. Let us know what you think in the usual place.

Star Trek Beyond is directed by Justin Lin and stars Chris Pine as Captain James T. Kirk, Zachary Quinto as Commander Spock, Karl Urban as LCDR Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy, Simon Pegg as LCDR Montgomery "Scotty" Scott, John Cho as LT Hikaru Sulu, Zoe Saldana as LT Nyota Uhura, Anton Yelchin as Ensign Pavel Chekov, Idris Elba as the film's villain, and Sofia Boutella as the mysterious alien seen above. The movie is set for release on July 22, 2016.

Holly [frick]ing shit, this actually feels like Star Trek but why the [frick] did they put that ugly TNG filter over it?

Looks cool! But I agree, the color palette looks very washed out in the trailer. Also, the movie looks a bit... "different", compared to the last two.

Omg the filter is so greenish...it's like everybody is infected by virus, and about to turn into zombies

Love that song, but now I'm imagining Ramstein singing it.

And it's freaking me out.

But yeah, Beastie Boys isn't Star Trek.

Star Trek doesn't have to be orchestral necessarily, but it does need some degree of grandeur. Maybe it's just the German trailer, though?

Scotty: "Is that music?"
Kirk: "It's a good song."
Scotty: "Great. Tune it up."
Kirk: "We have no ship. No crew. How do we get out of this?"
"We will find hope in the impossible."
Bones: "Damn. At least I won't die alone. ... Great. So typical."
"I hope this won't end bad."
"Here it begins, Captain. Here the final frontier fights back."
Kirk: "Damn, what is this?"
Alien: "I know why you're here. Why all of us are here."
Kirk: "Okay... We're not doing that again."

Looked fine to me, high tempo for an action based trailer. It's just not an orchestra piece. God forbid the deviate from the original...

It's just trying too hard to be something Star Trek isn't. Seems like it's aiming for the GOTG market. Sabotage is a great song it just didn't work there.

Cool, haha, haven't heard Sabotage in awhile and I wish this was in english, ha.... Good to see Sofia again, I wonder how big Idris Elba's role is, I don't think I saw him in that trailer
