AHSOKA: New Character Posters Focus On Two Fan-Favorite STAR WARS REBELS Droids And A Sinister Villain

Episodes 1 and 2 of Ahsoka hit Disney+ earlier than initially expected this past Tuesday, and Lucasfilm has now followed those with three new character posters (via SFFGazette.com) for the Star Wars Rebels follow-up.

Two of the posters are devoted to characters from that animated series who make their live-action debuts here; the iconic and beloved Chopper and Huyang, the droid that spent thousands of years teaching Jedi how to build their lightsabers.

Huyang counts the likes of Macu Windu and Yoda among his many pupils and fans are convinced we'll eventually see him in the High Republic-set series, The Acolyte. Either way, he's proven to be a pivotal part of Ahsoka thus far.

Talking of fan theories, there are heaps of fans convinced it's Ezra Bridger beneath Marrok's helmet and the final poster offers a closer look at the mysterious villain. He held his own against Ahsoka Tano in the second episode, so it's not outside the realm of possibility the missing Jedi hero has been corrupted by Morgan Elsbeth.

Take a look at these new Ahsoka character posters below.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

The first two episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.

@PlusUltra - wait so Ezra escaped the new galaxy but Thrawn didn’t? Idk I think Marrok is just another throwback to cook masked villains like boba and phasma

@PlusUltra - I kinda don't want Marrok to be anyone but if it is Ezra maybe he's undercover for some reason? I can't remember completely but I don't think we actually saw Marrok kill anyone so when he fought Ahsoka he could've been holding back just to make it look convincing - I found the end of the fight kinda odd when he summoned his lightsaber back after he threw it and Ahsoka just casually stepped out of the way to let it pass and didn't make any effort to stop it, and he didn't make any effort to make it hit her, and Ahsoka kinda had that "something else is going on here" look on her face.

I can't really see Marrok being Ezra if he is a legit bad guy though, having Ezra turn to the dark side kinda negates his entire arc in Rebels going from selfish kid, to impulsive Jedi Padawan who's tempted by the Dark Side, to selfless hero who gives up the chance to bring his parents back by joining the Emperor and makes the sacrifice play to stop Thrawn and give the Rebels the chance they need to end the war. His morality arc is complete by that point so him turning would feel like a huge step backwards.

@PlusUltra - honestly, I’m not sure but I am betting he will return as an anti-hero.

@PlusUltra - Been one of the few around here who started to believe it's him. Not just becuase of how he came close to the dark side in Rebels when he trained with the Sith Holocron and how he displayed some abilities afterwards but also because there's gotta be some kind of a shock once Marrok's helmet comes off. He is a mystery for a reason and we are gonna be supposed to have a reaction when the moment comes to learn who he is in fact.

Chopper was fun in the 2nd episode, I hope he gets the chance to appear more.

David Tennant as Huyang is very likeable too.

Betting on that Marrok is Ezra that somehow ended up being seduced by the dark side of the Force. Marrok's true identity should be a shocker of a reveal once the mask falls off for us the audience.

Marrok is a badly burned Kanan that was saved by Thrawn and immediately put into a bacta tank, he also lost his memory. Hera and Sabine find out at the end.
