J.J. Abrams Unveils First Look At An X-Wing From STAR WARS EPISODE VII

J.J. Abrams' latest video supporting "Force For Change" reveals that one lucky fan will be able to see an advanced screening of the movie if they donate to the worthy cause. The real surprise though? In a special video message from the set of Star Wars: Episode VII, director J.J. Abrams announces the creation of Star Wars: Force for Change, a brand new Star Wars initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm, in collaboration with Bad Robot, dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world's biggest problems. The first Star Wars: Force for Change campaign will raise funds and awareness for UNICEF's Innovation Labs and its innovative projects benefitting children in need. To support the launch of Star Wars: Force for Change, Disney has committed $1 million, and fans can now donate directly at http://bit.ly/ForceForChange for a chance to appear in Star Wars: Episode VII. By pledging as little as $10 through the Omaze fundraising platform, any eligible supporter will be automatically entered for a chance to win this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The campaign runs from 12:01am PST on May 21st until 11:59pm PST July 18th.

That's quite a reveal! We know that the Millennium Falcon will be back in Star Wars Episode VII, but the reveal of the X-wing starfighter is equally as exciting. What relevance do you guys think this will have to the plot f the movie? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

its the original mcquarrie x wing, with a blue stripe. either its a one of a kind custom x wing flown by a main character, or like the recent rumored stormtrooper appearance changes, the x wings went through some subtle changes too

good call Badmuffin, i could see it wasn't an X-Wing, but didn't know what it was, it's definitely a lot closer to a z-95 (on research, more specifically a Z-95t which differs slightly from the standard Z-95) than an X-Wing

@badmuffin, headhunter has only two cannons, this clearly has four...

Question is why use a forty year old starship design? I was hoping for the Stealth X designs.

*cough*http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Z-95_Headhunter*cough*

it doesn't have the S foil of the X wing, unless that tube thing splits in half, i'd say it a Z-95 Headhunter Variant or Proto-X wing

I can accept the Falcon still being around because of Hans love for that hunk of junk. But the X-wings are still around? I was really hoping to see some new stuff, especially being set 30years after the events of ROTJ... sigh!!!!

CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 7/21/2014, 7:06 AM
This is a Z-95 Headhunter. The nise is stubbier like a Z-95 and not as long as an X-Wing. Also X-Wings have 4 engines. This has 2, like a Z-95. There no S-Foils on this. Its just a single wing. There's no way that wing can split.

Also, Z-95's have been modified to have multiple guns on each wing. Some have even had 3 guns on each wing.

The evidence is overwhelming. Unless this is unfinished, its a Z-95.
