More Potentially MAJOR SPOILERS For STAR WARS EPISODE VII Revealed

Between rumours of a solo outing for Obi-Wan Kenobi and some very revealing set photos, it's been a good day for Star Wars news! We now have even more as some possible spoilers reveal the return of a very familiar bloodline which is a little more villainous in nature than the Skywalker clan...

According to Making Star Wars, J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII will indeed feature a throwback to the prequels as one of the characters will be a descendent of Count Dooku! The character played a major role in Attack of the Clones when it was revealed that he was working alongside Darth Sidious. Dooku later met a rather grisly end in the epic opening of Revenge of the Sith, but he clearly fathered some children sometime before that as the site's source reveals that the movie will feature, "an aristocratic family 'line' involving Episode 7’s bad guys. And as I said before, I firmly believe its the line of Dooku. Details and characters might have changed but the idea of an aristocratic villain with a heritage going back to the Clone Wars has been there from pre-production and as far as I know it’s still a major part of the story." An earlier report on the site says Benedict Cumberbatch's character (when he was rumoured to be part of the movie) was originally meant to be this tie to Dooku, but that has now been switched to Gwendoline Christie. However, based on these photos, it appears as she'll be a little less evil than her distant relative...or will she? We'll have to wait and see! Be sure to share your thoughts on this news below.

I feel sincerely sorry to anyone who posts/reads these spoiler articles. Way to intentionally ruin movies for yourselves. You might as well not go see them.

I don't mind spoilers most of the time, so no need to feel sorry for anyone.

Dooku is one of the few things I enjoy in the prequels so I'm glad he'll continue in some form or another.

I find that some spoilers actually make people WANT to see the movie. A movie may be so "meh" that someone may or may not see it based on what they know of it so far...but if a spoiler reveals a look, or a costume, or a motif, or a character, or whatever...that "meh" may turn into near rabid desire to see it...twice.

Looking back, in a time before spoilers and the internets...moviegoers were surprised with reveals but box office was humdrum at best. The occasional breakaway hit here and there, but for the most part pretty blah. With the advent of spoilers and the internets, it actually drums up a LOT of interest in movies that may have been otherwise "meh".

Only occasionally do spoilers truly "spoil" anything.

@Sipprelle: Yet you still made the effort to click on the article (where you MUST have seen the image of [SPOILER] (that's just in case you didn't)) and comment? Some people like 'em, and at this stage, we're at the point where 90% of this stuff will probably end up being false anyway. I remember when the THOR script leaked. I went nowhere near that because it really would make watching the movie pointless. This kind of stuff is speculative fun though!

Oh, and Star Wars spoilers = $$$, so don't feel sorry for ME anyway. ;)

Our Vikes sure sucked it up today, ug...our world is crumblin' before us, stupid AP...

Like Josh said, most of these rumors don't pan out, I usually avoid 'major' spoilers for most the movies I really care about, like Star Wars, but this movie will be cool regardless, not too concerned...

@JoshWilding I'm assuming your referring to the header(s) that are usually put above the article text? I was able to scroll down w/out catching a glimpse of it. I just merely wanted to comment to see why some people seem so intrigued to read up plot details re. movies that they're probably looking forward to. It just seems naturally counterproductive to go see a movie if you know everything going in. But a few of you guys do have some good points, and I have a bit of an understanding now.

And lol at that last line:
;D

It seems like 90% of rumors are bullshit anyway, so I do t mind it too much. Once we get real close to a films release date (like a month or so before), that's when I stop reading.

Hey Josh and CBM I can also CONFIRM THIS FROM ANOTHER SOURCE!

http://au.ibtimes.com/articles/566110/20140912/star-wars-7-sith-apprentice-adam-driver.htm#.VBZZ1Mt0xdg

"According to the report, Adam Driver will play the role of an heir to a wealthy family, which supports the Empire. He will reportedly be guided by a voice that guides him to find Luke Skywalker's apprentice. He is also said to be using his wealth and power to hunt force-sensitives in their 20s and collect Sith artifacts from across the galaxy.

Adam is said to be a force-sensitive, too, but is said to be just someone obsessed with the dark side of the Force and used as a pawn. He will try to kill John Boyega in the beginning of "Star Wars" 7. Daisy Ridley is said to be Luke's apprentice and Adam will reportedly reveal his true identity to them both later.

Adam is said to be using a red lightsaber but is not identified as a Sith. He is just a force-sensitive who was seduced by the dark side when he was young. He has no formal training by a Sith lord. Most of the movie will reportedly focus on him close on the heels of Daisy, Oscar and Harrison Ford."

Sounds like our new trio will be John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Daisy Ridley as our main lead. This report also talks about Driver being the descendant which I am not sure is true. And this sounds VERY VERY similar to the Sith Inquisitor character from Rebels who is force sensitive, uses a saber, but is ultimately an acolyte not a Sith Lord...and this also ties with the older rumor of the villains being Jedi Hunters but not Sith Lord just force users. Will report any other news as I see I think we are on to something!

i remember reading an article in a magazine a long time ago that suggested that the villain or villains in the sequel trilogy would be the character who survived the events of Episode III? I know this claim was made BEFORE Episode III was even made probably around Episode I. I can't remember who said this but it seemed to be someone in the loop at lucasfilm. we know lucas wrote outlines for the sequels but whether or not JJ or Kasdan is following those story notes isn't clear. Dooku was obviously snuffed in the prequels but reading this rumor about his bloodline being involved in Episode VII immediately reminded me of that old article I read back in the day

@feralwookie71

YES you are right which means that could be Max Von Sydow's character!!!! Great find bro!

UPDATE 2: This Dooku descendant could be either grandsons Adam Driver or Domhnall Gleeson or Max Von Sydow being another possibility as the son....hmmm
Rokyn
Rokyn - 9/14/2014, 9:10 PM
@RichBarnes

The only characters that I could think of who survived up to and past Episode III were Darth Maul because of Clone Wars, Ventress, some Imperial Commander, some Sith Inquisitor, Palpatine, or possibly a Jedi from the prequels...hmm interesting. Do you remember the name of this article by any chance or the source or the date? This might be a key plot point which may have survived the scripting process up to the finished script.

If anything...based on Lucas original plans (before he started denying them)...was that he was going to have 7, 8, and 9 deal with moral ambiguity among the Empire/Rebels and Jedi/Sith...kinda like these movies would explore the grey areas between both and deal with the consequences of both...and his other notes dealt with Luke turning over to the Dark Side by the end of Episode 6 and with the "other" from Yoda's line in Episode 5 taking over the mantle over to 7, 8, and 9. I can confirm this through a book I read a while back in where the author managed to get the interviews and notes from Lucas back as early as 1978. And also I have a video where Mark Hamil discussed that he thought his character was going to turn to the dark side the entire time while finishing the filming on 5 especially with the foreshadowing from him becoming Vader! He said it would have been a wonderful opportunity and he would have found it more fun....funny fact that he was talking about this while JJ Abrams was right in front to him in the same table interview! LOL MIND BLOWN.

The title "count" implies an aristocratic line so that's not too far fetched i guess.

It's all in the execution though

The only thing I really expect to happen is general ham solo dying in the line of duty.
That and more Indiana jones was a deal breaker for Harrison (my pet theory)

@Rokyn

nope sry man can't remember the precise publication but it was one of those entertainment mags that were all the rage back in the 90's before the internet became the primary source of spoilers. it was a big SW article detailing the then upcoming prequel trilogy and minor info on the sequel trilogy. sometime around the late 90's.

i remember thinkin while watching ROTS i wonder who survives this film that could be the baddie in 7,8,9 but after that lucas said "no sequels" ever lmbo but now, lo and behold, disney is making sequels so this is all coming back to me lol if this turns out to be true, then dooku, as survived by his bloodline/children, would presumably be the character that article was alleging years ago

My hypothesis keeps panning out!
Comicbookmovie would lose 90% of content if it didnt steal and repost article (power users poaching) or just cut and paste from Latino review.

It's obvious that certain "power users/site owners" get ahold of news/gossip and instead of putting it all in an article with a caveat about it being "rumors / speculation" they parse it out into SEVERAL articles so they get more banner ad revenue.

People who call things like this major spoilers have little imagination imo. You could give me a hundred major spoilers and I could come up with hundreds of ways the movie might unfold differently or have different emotional impact while having all those things. You don't know how a movie is til you've seen it. Especially a Star Wars movie, where anything can happen in any of lots of ways.
