ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY Star Felicity Jones On Possible Jyn Erso Return In ANDOR Season 2

With the upcoming second season of Andor set to take us directly into Cassian's first scene in Rogue One, there's at least a slim chance we'll see Jyn Erso again, right? Here's what Felicity Jones says...

In Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, we met Jyn Erso, the daughter of Galen Erso, one of the main scientists who was forced to work on "Project Stardust," a.k.a. the Death Star.

After being recruited by Cassian Andor, Jyn helped lead the Rebellion which culminated with them stealing the Death Star plans (before being killed by the very weapon they'd help one day destroy).

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy recently confirmed the final few episodes of the series' second season will play out across the few days prior to the events of Rogue One. Could that mean Felicity Jones is given the chance to reprise her Star Wars role in the Disney+ series?

"I'm afraid to say I won't be," the actress told BBC's The One Show (via SFFGazette.com) when asked about a possible return in Andor"but I still have hope for Jyn Erso at some point to make a comeback. But no, sadly I won't be."

"I actually wouldn't want to repeat any of [my characters]," Jones later added. "It's so funny - once you've sort of done it, and you've kind of put them to bed, then you're ready for the next challenge."

Gilroy has said on multiple occasions that Andor will end with Cassian's first scene in Rogue One, so it wouldn't make a huge amount of sense for Jyn to make an appearance. There's definitely room to explore her story before she became a Rebel, but whether that's something Lucasfilm is actually interested in is hard to say.

We recently spoke with Rogue One star Ben Mendelsohn about the possibility of him returning as Director Krennic in Andor season 2. He got a little cagey and responded, "Andor 2? Krennic? I don’t think so. I don’t know. If they ask me, I’d pick up. I’d certainly do it, yeah."

Andor season 2 premieres on Disney+ sometime in August 2024.

Darth Vader will make an appearance. I'm sure as s*** he will.

@CoHost - Wanna bet? Unlike Rogue One, he has no reason to appear here.

@CassianAndor - He had no reason to be in Rogue One, either, outside of some fanservice.

@CoHost - He will no doubt be defeated again if he does show up.

Yeah wouldn't make any sense at all for her to show up in a show called Andor when she hasn't actually met Cassian Andor yet.

@AC1 - Mon Mothma was in this season as well, but at no point has she met Andor right? Although I guess she met a few who did

@bkmeijer1 - That's true but Andor does seem to be largely focused on the Rebellion, which Jynn states at the start of Rogue One she hasn't been involved with since her brief stint with Saw Garrera after he took her in as a child before abandoning her on a mission as a teenager if I remember correctly (I might be wrong though, it's been a few years since I watched Rogue One so if I'm mistaken on that then my bad)

@AC1 - that's a good point actually. But like you, it's been a while since I've seen it so I don't know either. Could still show up in someone's storyline though without direct Rebellion involvement

With how the first season focused on a lot of other characters, I wouldn't be surprised if we get to see Jyn, or even Galen, Krennic or even Vader show up in one of those storylines

I want Cal Kestis to save Andor from either Vader or a bounty hunter, so he can escape. Cal sees K-2SO and almost kills him, but BD-1 jumps on K-2SO and reprograms the droid. Andor is saved and must teach the new droid. Cal and Andor go their separate ways.

BD-1 saves the universe.
