Rogue One: A Star Wars Story underwent some major changes during reshoots, but Ben Mendelsohn's Director Orson Krennic was always going to be front and centre as the movie's villain.

Yes, we lost a scene which saw him try to take Jyn Erso down while piloting a TIE Fighter, but as one of the Death Star's main architects, he was quickly established as an incredibly important part of the wider Star Wars Galaxy. Like the rest of the movie's leads, Krennic was killed by the Empire on Scarif when they unleashed the space station's destructive capabilities, a fitting and ironic end for the Imperial.

Mendelsohn recently surprised fans by lending his voice to Krennic in an episode of The Bad Batch on Disney+ and we asked the actor how it felt to make his Star Wars return during a recent interview about his role in To Catch a Killer (we'll share the full conversation with you next month).

"Here’s the thing, you know. I saw Star Wars in the cinema when I was a kid and it was one of my first biggest film loves," he said. "I had a few, but listen, I wouldn’t have worried about that much in my life if I’d have known I was going to be in Star Wars.:

As for whether he could return as Krennic in Rogue One prequel series Andor's upcoming second season, Mendelsohn got a little cagey and responded, "Andor 2? Krennic? I don’t think so. I don’t know. If they ask me, I’d pick up. I’d certainly do it, yeah."

The actor has recently been spotted in London and Andor is currently shooting in the UK, so take that as you will!

While Andor's second season will remain Cassian's story, we find it hard to believe more about the Death Star's destruction isn't going to be revealed along the way, especially after that post-credits scene confirmed pieces of it were indeed being constructed on Narkina 5.

To Catch a Killer, which also stars Shailene Woodley, arrived in theaters on April 21.
