STAR WARS EPISODE VII Set To Start Filming Next Month; Production Title Revealed

Rumour has it that Star Wars Episode VII has been in pre-production for the past three months and will begin shooting in August. Hit the jump for details on that and to learn what name Disney will be using as a production alias.

According to Jedi News, Disney have signed a filming location deal with Pinewood Studios which will give them studio space there for the next ten years. We already know that Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Cinderella and Star Wars Episode VII will all shoot at the iconic location, and the studio clearly has plans to return for possible sequels to them and more besides. However, most interesting is the fact that J.J. Abrams Star Wars movie is currently in pre-production under the pseudonym, "Foodles Productions Ltd". This was registered by Disney UK back in March. The site adds, "that the film has been in pre-production at Pinewood Studios for three and a half months in advance of an August 2013 shooting date. We hear they have block booked the studios for 10 years and that construction of offices and facilities on-site is underway. Also storage space is being located in the local area." With Kathleen Kennedy recently promising a return to old school practical effects, it could be these that they are currently working on. However, will this earlier start give Abrams time to also helm Star Trek 3?

I'm sure they'll start shooting this year. It's believable. It'll small stuff cause 'm sure they're still whipping the 'Ol crew back into shape but they can start on the small level scenes first.

So far no actors have been cast so unless the OT3 are the only actors in this moive then I doubt this movie is filming *unless all they are filming are like landscape shots and things that dont require acting then maybe&*

Doubt it, unless they are trying to go super duper incognito. But this is Star Wars, we would've heard if it was in pre production. But I don't doubt that this should be going into production soon. October seems like a more certain time.

I think Yoda and Ben should return in Ghost Form. Have Luke rebuild the Temple and on the Council we got Ghost Obi-Wan, Ghost Anakin, Ghost Mace, Ghost Yoda, Luke, maybe Ahsoka, and a bunch of other people we don't care for.

True, but don't forget to take into account who said and who is saying. WB has backtracked on multiple announced projects in both film and television right before and since the writers strike. In that same time frame, Disney and Marvel have produced what they said they would (even if it flops like Lone ranger or John Carter).

i think it went largely unnoticed that screenshots from a LucusArts artbook leaked w/ over 20 cancelled video games that were once in-development, one being "STAR WARS EPISODE VII: SHADOWS OF THE SITH"
