This Friday, all six previous movies in the Star Wars saga will be available for digital download via the usual online outlets including Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and XBox Video. Not a particularly exciting prospect for anyone who's seen the movies about a thousand times already (and let's face it, that's probably most of us!) but you will get the opportunity to check out some never-before-seen extras, including the documentaries Star Wars: Discoveries from Inside and Conversations, as well as 40 brand new deleted scenes.

Here's what Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy had to say to StarWars.com about the announcement. “We’re thrilled that fans will be able to enjoy the Star Wars saga on their digital devices wherever they go. These films broke new ground in technology, design, sound, and visual effects, and we’ve created some very special bonus material which delves into the saga’s rich history, including new and never-before-released conversations between legendary Star Wars artists — the masters who helped George bring his iconic universe to life.”
