To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Return of the Jedi, forty storytellers have been assembled to re-create iconic moments from the film with a collection of short stories in Return of the Jedi: From A Certain Point of View.
It should go without saying that Boba Fett will play a role in the book, and he takes centre stage in a tale which is set in Jabba the Hutt's palace shortly before the bounty hunter is launched into the Sarlacc Pit by Han Solo.
Author Tara Sim explains, "I wanted to be in Boba's head while he fulfills his contract with Jabba, and in the moments right before the Sarlacc, which meant that Han was the natural through line. It provided a really interesting backdrop to explore Boba's pride in himself and his work, even though he's just another one of Jabba's hired hands - and could end up like Han if he's not careful."
USA Today (via SFFGazette.com) has also reveals plans for Mad Men and Top Gun: Maverick star Jon Hamm to make his Star Wars return. The actor is going to narrate Sim's story for the audiobook version of From A Certain Point of View, meaning he'll be lending his voice to Fett too.
"Having an actor of his caliber read words that I wrote and bring that version of Boba to life is surreal, but also such an honor," Sim tells the site. Other actors confirmed to narrate these stories include Adam Scott, Sam Witwer, and more.
Hearing Hamm bring Fett to life again promises to be a blast and it's interesting that Lucasfilm turned to him rather than enlisting The Book of Boba Fett star Temuera Morrison. After portraying Jango Fett and the Galactic Republic in the Star Wars prequels, he's since reprised the role in George Lucas' Special Editions and the post-Return of the Jedi era stories being told on Disney+.
The actor recently shared his disappointment about not being part of The Mandalorian season 3 but later hinted he'll eventually reprise the role of the iconic character in a future Star Wars project.
How do you feel about Hamm playing Boba Fett?
