A brief teaser trailer has been released by EA at E3 to confirm the return of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise on the next generation of consoles and it appears as if it will put players right in the middle of the Battle of Hoth! Read on for details.

Along with the above teaser trailer, EA has today confirmed that DICE will develop a next-gen Star Wars: Battlefront title. We first heard about this last month when the developer promised, "a first look at our plans for the Star Wars partnership with Disney." With the team responsible for Battlefield and Mirror's Edge working on it, this game promises to be a must-buy!

I kind of hope they give you an option between first person and third person.

That way those who love FPS can play an FPS, and those who love TPS can play TPS.

Probably not going to happen, but I can hope.

Just to clarify, this is not Battlefront 3. It is a reboot of the series. That does mean I'm not excited for it though!

I hope they keep the option to play as a heroe (jedi, sith...) in singleplayer and that they improve the space maps. With the machines we have today, the game could feature really massive space battles.

HELL YES!!! Battlefield: Star Wars. This will be awesome. Glad to have Dice aboard, don't need to worry about Battlefield:2142 anymore this will more then do. Damn though its really gonna cut into my BF 4 play.

Hopefully they make the switch to FPS. Glad they are using Frostbite 3. All they need to do is translate Battlefield 4 into Battlefront 3 and let the epicness ensue.

with this kind of game there is little to no difference if it is a numbered sequel or a "reboot" since there is no narrative thread between the first two games or to carry on to the third. So basically no matter what they call it it is Battlefront III.
