The beginning of Terminator: Genisys, the first of three planned films that Paramount hopes will relaunch the beloved sci-fi franchise, is set in 2029, when the Future War is raging and a group of human rebels has the evil artificial-intelligence system Skynet on the ropes. John Connor (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ Jason Clarke) is the leader of the resistance, and Kyle Reese (Divergent‘s Jai Courtney) is his loyal soldier, raised in the ruins of post apocalyptic California. As in the original film, Connor sends Reese back to 1984 to save Connor’s mother, Sarah (Game of Thrones‘ Emilia Clarke), from a Terminator programmed to kill her so that she won’t ever give birth to John. But what Reese finds on the other side is nothing like he expected.

Starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, Emilia Clarke, Matt Smith, Byung-hun Lee, Courtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons, Terminator Genisys is set to be released on July 1st.

Yes i will spam that hashtag on all of these articles until we see Matt smith again. He's the main reason i'm looking forward to this and they keep refusing to show him.

They screwed the pooch by showing evil John Connor in the trailers.

Also, Emilia needs to work on her American accent.

At this point, James Cameron is rolling his eyes at the inadequate sequels that have been made so far. If he returns to the directing helm THEN consider me on board with the franchise again.

Inferior rehashed bits from T2 with the added bonus of Jai Courtney. Crapola.

Nice to see they're trying their hardest to force as many lame ass one liners from previous films for Clarke to say. Anyways, I'm only excited cause my local theater is playing all 4 Terminator films before this one for $25 bucks.

I've enjoyed all the terminators so far. Yes they're all a bit stupid but if you want something to take serious don't go see the fifth (?) sequel to an Arny movie.

This does have an interesting premise though, if history has changed and the events of 1 and 2 are essentially taking place at the same time, things will get crazy

There's no way this is anywhere as good as T2. Maybe better than T3 which is hot garbage...
