Welliver might be best known to CBMers as The Man On Black, or "Smokey" from Lost but he is a veteran of quite a few great shows such as Sons Of Anarchy and Deadwood He will appear next in the FX tv series based on Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming's comic book series..

From AOLTV.com..

Welliver has been cast as Triphammer in 'Powers,' and if the pilot gets picked up to series, his role will be recurring.

Triphammer is described by the network as both "a genius and a narcissist," a combination of Steve Jobs and Donald Trump. He's not just a powerful force in his own right, he has invented technology that can both bestow and remove superhuman abilities.

Triphammer seems to be an Iron Man type character from what I can gather. I am a Powers noob! Anyway the show also stars Jason Patric and Lucy Punch as detectives who investigate crimes involving people with superhuman abilities. The pilot was written by Charles H. Eglee(The Shield) and it's being directed by Justified executive producer Michael Dinner.

Dude, is Speed 2 the only thing you have seen Patric in? He's a great actor. Check out Your Friends And Neighbors, Rush, After Dark My Sweet etc etc. Hell even The Lost Boys!

Great choice for this part. Perfect actually.
This guy will be able to do the perfectly condescendingly arrogant and crude persona justice.
For those who don't know, he's a middle aged version of the Tony Stark/Howard Hughes archetype, having grown more paranoiac and megalomaniacal.

Nice. He's perfect.

Ror, you should really need to read Powers. Not only is it a great comic, but then you won't sound so stupid when you make these posts. ;^)
