"We've worked very closely with the original author, Bryan Lee O'Malley," the director told MTV News. "It's a different version of the story in a way, and we tried to structure it so it works more as a movie, and he's been very much involved in that process. In fact, on a couple of occasions, he's rewritten scenes that we've done, which is great."

"Really, the film is slightly different than your normal comic book adaptation because it isn't just the action," he added. "It's a comedy, there's a big love story, and there's a high, high music quotient as well."

"That's what attracted me to it in the first place — the chance to tackle four different genres and do something that had action and music in it as well."

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is set to be released on August 13th later this year!
