While we've seen a fair bit of David F Sandberg's currently filming
SHAZAM! through set pictures and videos, including Levi in the suit (the response to which has caused some controversy online). we're still only slowly finding out who will be rounding out the cast of the upcoming DC film.
Just yesterday, we learned that Adam Brody from
The OC had been cast as the adult version of Jack Dylan Grazer's Freddy Freeman, and now
Batman-News is now reporting that two other names have been added to the list of those playing the adult version of Billy Batson's foster family.
According to the site, Ross Butler, who is perhaps best known as the actor who portrayed Reggie Mantle on the first season of the Archie Comics adaptation RIVERDALE, will play the adult version of Eugene Choi, who will be played as a child by Ian Chen. Butler has also revealed via his Instagram account that he is currently in Toronto, Canada where production on the DCEU film is currently based.
It is also being reported that Adam Brody's fellow cast mate from the abandoned Justice League film, DJ Cotrona, who was to portray Superman in the George Miller-directed project, will finally get his cinematic shot at the DC universe as he joins the film as Pedro Peña, the younger version of whom is being portrayed by The Middle actor Jovan Armand.
If true, Butler and Cotrona will join Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield and Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, along with Mark Strong as the villainous Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, Asher Angel's Bill Batson, and Zach Levi as the titular SHAZAM!
What do you think? Are Butler and Cotrona are good fits for the adult version of these characters? Are you looking forward to SHAZAM! Leave your thoughts below.
