According to Variety, Grace Fulton is in negotiations to re-team with Annabelle: Creation director David F. Sandberg for New Line and DC Entertainment's Shazam movie.

The trade doesn't specify which character Fulton will play, but they do mention that it'll be "one of Batson’s friends," which has led to speculation that she may have been cast as a variation on Billy's sister, Mary Marvel.

This news comes directly after a report that Mark Strong has entered talks to play the villainous Dr. Sivana, though that hasn't been confirmed here.

David Sandberg will direct Shazam, which will star Zach Levi in the title role. The Movie is set to start shooting next year for a tentative 2019 release.

@SimplyAz - I'm strongly in the "I'm okay with this" camp.

If the DCEU (I'm still calling that) gets to a place where they can have a Supergirl that isn't terrible, then Chloe Moretz would be up to it, I think.

@Spock0Clock - Id like them to really double down on the alien nature of Supergirl like they did in the beginning of her New 52 run, and that kinda like Steve Rogers shes a person out of time that suddenly has to deal with everyone shes ever met being gone while being an alien that doesnt understand the language

If Billy won't be called Captain Marvel, will Mary still use Mary Marvel? The same thing with Freddy will he be called Shazam Jr. instead of Captain Marvel Jr.?
