THR reports that Sony's Silver and Black movie has enlisted a pair of new writers to work on what will, presumably, be the final draft of the script.

Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking) will team with Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Captain Marvel, Tomb Raider) to further develop the Spider-Man spinoff, which will focus on established Marvel Comics characters Black Cat and Silver Sable.

Director Gina Prince-Bythewood (The Secret Life of Bees) wrote a previous draft, as did Thor: Ragnarok’s Chris Yost and Westworld co-creator Lisa Joy.

We still don't know very much about this one, but there are lots of rumors doing the rounds - including reports of a possible appearance from Spidey's arch nemesis, Norman Osborn.

@JohnnyTBP - isn’t the unknown of what could happen in Sable/Black Car more xciting than knowing exactly what would happen if Spider-Man were in this?

Venom solo movie? Okay he is very popular makes sense

Silver and Black?? Literally no one cares about that movie no matter how good the talent is. Scrap this nonsense and focus on venom, he is your only chance

@Saga - To be fair they are both way more popular than Legion ever was. As long as you have the talent and make it good there’s always a chance for it to work.

Silly question time...

How exactly does this script writing process work? Why so many rewrites/drafts? And why get new writers in if the studio execs or producers aren’t happy initially? I would have thought it would be a conversation on what needs changing. Is it for perspective?

Cheers😊

@ChangAlang - That’s just the way the script writing process works in Hollywood. Lots of drafts, lots of writers and script doctors.
