Marisa Tomei Describes A Cut SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Scene That's Definitely A Missed Opportunity

(Hot) Aunt May actress Marisa Tomei describes a scene she filmed for Marvel Studios and Jon Watts' Spider-Man: Homecoming that didn't make the theatrical cut which left her pretty disappointed.

Spider-Man:Homecoming spun a masterful box office debut this past weekend on its way to an "A" cinema score. However, one of the very minuscule complaints moviegoers had about the MCU film was that there weren't enough scenes between Peter and Aunty May.

Well, according to Marisa Tomei, director Jon Watts certainly filmed more and there's one in particular that sounds as if it would have added another layer to the film and strengthened the connection between Peter Parker and his aunt.

"There was something going on in the neighborhood, and there was a little girl in distress, and I saved her, and Peter saw me save her, so you kind of saw that he got part of his ethics from her … Then I come home, and I don’t even tell him that that’s what happened, and, of course, there’s all this stuff that he’s not telling me. So he’s like, ‘How was your day?’ And I’m like, ‘It was fine,’ but really I was shaking inside because of this whole crisis that had happened in the city. I’m kind of fibbing to him, and he’s fibbing to me, and we’re living in this house together, and it was a very interesting setup. I was quite disappointed that wasn’t in there."

It's probably safe to assume that Tomei is referring to the "deli scene" and such a moment between May and Peter certainly would have alluded to the mother/son bond that they typically share in the comics.  Perhaps that scene will show up on the home video release and there'll be commentary from Watts or someone else on the creative team which explains why that scene was cut?

Yeah... It does seem like a missed opportunity...

Their dynamic definitely will be more interesting in the future, and we did get a scene like that a little later in the movie, so I dunno, maybe it hurt the pacing of the film.

@knocturnalzen10 - My brain contains billions of nerve cells arranged in patterns(The shape of a woman) that coordinate thoughts(of women), emotion(I hate them all), behavior(Is good when I'm sleeping), movement(always towards women) and sensation (love the way they smell and feel...who doesn't?). A complicated highway system of nerves connects my brain to the rest of my body(Mostly my cheese wheel penis.), so communication can occur in split seconds, unless I'm shell shocked by beauty. It happens.

She was a great Aunt May. I hope we get a short Uncle Ben flashback in the sequel as well.
