New photos from the UK set of Kraven the Hunter reveal another look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson in costume, but the actor isn't decked out in the outfit most closely associated with his comic book counterpart.

Kraven the Hunter is currently shooting in the UK, and we now have another look at Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the title character in the Sony Pictures movies. Neither one of these costumes bear much of a resemblance to what the comic book version of the Spider-Man villain wears, and it's currently unclear whether we'll even get to see that outfit when the movie is released early next year.

The Venom franchise has taken major liberties with the source material by eliminating the web-slinger from Eddie Brock's origin story, meaning he wears a generic black costume rather than boasting that familiar white logo on his chest. Morbius, meanwhile, never donned a suit of any sort in his movie.

As well as the smart clothes we've already seen Kraven wearing, Taylor-Johnson was also spotted in tactical gear. That will probably be what he wears for the majority of this blockbuster, though there's always a chance the villain - presumably an anti-hero in this world - will don his classic vest.

On the plus side, the live-action Kraven does have his familiar necklace on. It's good to see Sony adhering to the comic books in some ways, and this will hopefully be better than Morbius.

Kraven the Hunter will be unleashed in theaters on January 13, 2023.

@kylo0607 - My guess is he hopes to be proven wrong because he, like most people, would like to watch a good movie.

@kylo0607 - I'm aware the film has a pretty great director but a 50/50 writing team. So we will see

@TheRationalNerd - I mean we've seen examples in where a good director was able to make a great film out of a script whom the screenwriter has a bad track record. So lets hope this is the case here too

After the trash that Venom and Morbius (apparently, did not go see it) were, I am not bothering with these pathetic Sony attempts.

I hope he at least has an accent.

Saw some guy on reddit mentioning that Sharlto Copley would have been a good Kraven the same way he did Kruger in Elysium. And honestly, I'd be way more excited to see that one.

@Fares - that dude is a twig tho
Fares
Fares - 4/23/2022, 11:36 AM
@McMurdo - I wouldn't exactly say twig. I think he was in a pretty decent shape in Oldboy. He's definitely on the slimmer side though, and has less physical potentiel than Aaron Taylor-Johnson, especially since he's older.
But what he lacks in physique, he makes up for in spades with personality and presence. I'm sure Johnson has potentiel in that aspect as well, but I never saw that side of him personally. All I know is Copley was a badass and he stole every scene he was in as Kruger.

The people involved in this film must be a little nervous after seeing what happened with Morbius.

You might say that well the Venom movies have done well, but Venom has a very unique and interesting visual look. Kraven is just a dude in lion print.

Me whenever I see that Avi Arad is the main producer in a Sony movie:

#FireAviArad

eagc1995 - 4/23/2022, 3:29 PM
@Superspecialawesomeguy - he produced Spider-Verse. Sometimes all it takes is right team to make a great film even if a producer is questionable

Like with Bumblebee, it was produced by the same team of the last 5 films, but were able to make a great film despite having some questionable producers
Superspecialawesomeguy
Superspecialawesomeguy - 4/23/2022, 5:32 PM
@eagc1995 - The reason Lord & Miller had so much creative control over ITSV was because they were also producers on the movie as well, almost every movie Avi Arad has produced has been a critical failure; even the Raimi movies only did as well as they did because of Laura Ziskin, the other producer of the Raimi movies who was known for butting heads with Avi and hiring the best people for the job (unfortunately she died of cancer during the filming of TASM 1, another film who's theatrical cut was butchered by Avi during the editing process).
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/24/2022, 8:01 AM
@eagc1995 - While great, Bumblebee still pissed me off for being a stupid half prequel/half reboot abomination.

You cant use the same designs and story elements as the other films but then change some things while still saying the movie is leading into the other films that already happened. It does nothing but create continuity issues.

X-Men First Ass did the same thing. I really dislike this approach to prequels/reboots. It's like they want to benefit from the strong points of the series while nit following continuity. It's BS.
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 4/24/2022, 5:14 PM
@CorndogBurglar - Well to be fair with Bumblebee, we have to keep in mind it was a last minute decision to make it a reboot, as the film started off a prequel, as they wanted to create a Cinematic Universe with Last Knight being the launching pad for the Bayverse Cinematic Universe and Bee was being developed as a prequel showcasing the time gap between Bee WWII adventures and the first film, but TLK underperformed, so they changed stuff to make it a reboot, but it was already too late to remove several Bayverse elements.

Now Hasbro does consider it a reboot, as they once called it "a new storytelling universe", but its Lorezon DiBonevatura who wants to keep that door open for them being prequels, even though as we both know they've changed alot that makes it impossible to fit them
eagc1995
eagc1995 - 4/24/2022, 5:16 PM
@Superspecialawesomeguy - We dont know with TASM1 if he had much of a negative influence after Laura died, we do know about TASM2, which is one they tampered alot with.

But at the same time we dont know how much of the elements in the SSU films were Avi's vs Director, for all we know the films as we got them were purely the director's visions, now i do think with Morbius they did tampered alot with it given how much is missing from the trailers
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 4/24/2022, 5:25 PM
@eagc1995 - Yeah, it just bothers me that they have the bayverse designs. I mean, I didn't expect the transformers to be rolling around in 1980's tech, mind you. But Bumblebee did them perfectly on Cybertron. They obviously weren't earth vehicles there, but their robot forms still looked very G1-ish. Which tells me they can look like that in newer movies while still using modern vehicles.

It's just a little frustrating lol. Which is funny because I actually liked the first movie. But they had already jumped the shark with the 2nd movie and they just kept lining up more sharks in the pool with each sequel and getting more and more silly.

Why don't we partner up and do a little good... Maybe a little bad too?"

People here legit shitting on Sony movies but praising Taika Waititis Thor like they are that different...
kylo0607
kylo0607 - 4/23/2022, 9:49 AM
@Razorface1 - Ugh?! But they are.

Taika brings fresh style and injects fun into the Thor movies, while still keeping the characters true to their selves.

The Sony movies are soulless grabs that are devoid of any unique trait.

There is a reason why Ragnarok sits at $853 million worldwide at the BO, is the highest grossing and critically appraised Thor film and 81 in the all-time ranking, while Morbius will barely make $150 million WW and flopped with the critics as well.
