When a film is delayed, leaks become almost inevitable. The entire plot of Wonder Woman 1984 was widely available months before the sequel finally hit HBO Max, while even Marvel Studios was unable to stop toys and promo art from revealing first looks at films like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals.
In the case of Spider-Man: No Way Home, those leaks have been a little less...legal.
Someone has taken it upon themselves to share content that really wasn't meant to be seen in advance, and that's why we won't be sharing the trailer here until the official version is released. We do, however, have details on another apparent leak that's been generating quite the stir on social media; it's a behind-the-scenes photo that appears to show Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield suited up.
These two returning for Spider-Man: No Way Home is one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood, and you can view that image here.
Is it real? That's up for debate. Many believe it's been doctored given the poor quality, while others are claiming to have run it through certain filters on Photoshop that confirm its validity. Whoever leaked the trailer is also being credited with sharing this image online, so the plot thickens. This leak joins some toy packaging from the weekend we're less convinced was legit.
Hopefully, Sony Pictures will act soon and share something a little more official for the threequel.
