SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME Product Descriptions Tease "Multiversal Consequences" And The Sinister Six

Some newly revealed merchandise descriptions for Spider-Man: No Way Home drop a few hints about the wall-crawler's trip into the Multiverse and how that could lead to him clashing with "sinister" foes.

Remember when Marvel Studios drove us all nuts by making us wait for that first Avengers: Endgame trailer? Well, it feels a lot like Sony Pictures is taking a similar approach with Spider-Man: No Way Home's marketing campaign, as there's still no sign of a first look at the highly anticipated Phase 4 movie.

Sure, we've had a title reveal and a handful of stills, but that's not quite the same as a trailer!

Something we have seen plenty of, however, is merchandise. Thanks to various toys and promo art, we know which costumes Peter Parker will wear in the threequel, and that he'll have somehow tapped into magic (a definite upgrade from being what many fans have dubbed "Iron Man Jr."). Thanks to Entertainment Earth, though, we may have a few more teases about what to expect from No Way Home.

"With lots of articulation and potentially multiversal consequences, each figure draws its inspiration from the movie - and potentially other movies too!" reads one description before noting that the set includes "sinister people." Another may shed some light on the movie's title.

"Blast your way into another universe with the Spider-Man: No Way Home Hero Blasters! These fun blasters let you bring the movie adventures home, provided you can find a way back."

Intriguing, eh?

One final product description states: "The future of reality has never been less certain than in Spider-Man: No Way Home...What madness will be unleashed as Peter comes face to face with unlimited possibilities[?]" This pretty much confirms that the web-slinger is about to take a swing through the newly created Multiverse, and that could make this the most amazing Spider-Man movie yet.

Hopefully, we'll get some footage from Spider-Man: No Way Home sooner rather than later...

8. Sanctum Workshop And Wong's New Look

4934322213e3214212412371433312

We're confident that Spidey won't be riding a bicycle through the Sanctum "workshop," but there are still some plot details to be gleaned from this LEGO set.

That green creature looks at least a little bit like Shuma Gorath, a villain expected to appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (look closely at the sticker on whatever the creature is meant to be). This film leading directly into that one does make sense, and the two stories could even overlap to an extent.

Wong's new look is also noteworthy; clad in winter gear - likely due to No Way Home's Christmas setting - he has hair now, and we're guessing he's just decided to grow that out...and why shouldn't he?

Remember, the first stills from the film showed Peter, Ned, and MJ in a basement of some sort, so perhaps this set is a take on that?

7. Some Strange Upgrades

4934322213e3214212412371433312

Peter Parker is wearing an "Integrated Suit" in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and you don't need to have a Tony Stark-level intellect to figure out that it's a combination of the Upgraded and Iron Spider costumes.

However, that's not what we're most interested in right now. It looks like Doctor Strange plans to give the web-slinger some new abilities, and we can't help but wonder what that means for him. With glowing symbols on his chest and wrist, it looks like Spidey will be able to unleash some new powers in his battle against the rumored interdimensional Sinister Six.

It's possible this is also going to help Spider-Man travel through the Multiverse, perhaps to recruit some of his fellow Spider-Men (played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, obviously).

Something tells us there's more to come with this iteration of the webbed wonder.

6. Nick Fury, Mysterio, And The Vulture

4934322213e3214212412371433312

While it could be an effort to protect story spoilers, Spider-Man: No Way Home having LEGO sets "inspired" by previous films - Homecoming and Far From Home in this instance - is still odd.

That wasn't even the case for Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and the decision to put Spidey's black and gold suit in that Vulture set is downright confusing. It goes without saying that we're not anticipating seeing that drone or a car chase, but as for characters like Adrian Toomes, Mysterio, and Vulture in No Way Home...it wouldn't surprise us.

Quentin Beck pulling the strings from the shadows makes perfect sense, while Vulture definitely seems to be playing a role in whatever this Multiverse is shaping up to be if the Morbius trailer is any indication.

We'll see, but this is one to keep an eye on, for sure!

5. Doctor Strange's New Look

4934322213e3214212412371433312

We've mentioned Wong's new look, but what about Doctor Strange? It's certainly possible this is a Variant version of the Sorcerer Supreme Peter Parker encounters on another Earth.

One possibility is that Spidey encounters a different version of Stephen who is just a regular guy and manages to get him the tools he needs to be the Sorcerer Supreme (the Eye of Agamotto and Cloak of Levitation, not that shovel). However, there's another far more likely outcome.

Based on what Wong is wearing, and No Way Home having a Christmas setting, this is probably just a gag; perhaps there's no heat in the Sanctum or Stephen just has to clear away some snow?

However, we're still left to wonder: how has the Eye of Agamotto returned?!

4. J. Jonah Jameson Returns

4934322213e3214212412371433312

J.K. Simmons has played coy when it comes to his Marvel Cinematic Universe future, but it's clear now he will be part of Spider-Man: No Way Home

Whether that's as little more than the host of TheDailyBugle.net (likely calling for Peter Parker's head) or as someone who takes a slightly more active role in proceedings, this is going to be a lot of fun, and gives Simmons a chance to potentially play more than one version of Jonah...assuming we pay a visit to that other Spidey's home!

This is the MCU's Jonah, though, and for many fans, him getting his own action figure is long overdue.

We just hope that there's at least one scene with the wall-crawler giving Jameson what he deserves, webbing up his mouth and finally getting him to shut up.

3. Black And Gold

4934322213e3214212412371433312

This is an intriguing costume, and one that doesn't have an official name as of yet. Some fans believe it could be what's beneath Spidey's regular suit, but we have a feeling it's a little more advanced than that.

Those red "gauntlets" are interesting, and we can't help but think back to the Anti-Ock suit in the Spider-Man video game. With Alfred Molina returning to the role of Doctor Octopus, that makes perfect sense, though we'd be willing to bet the web-slinger uses this to leap into action against the entire interdimensional Sinister Six.

It's certainly a different look for Peter, and while it may not be the black suit fans have been hoping to see, we'd be willing to bet this factors into the final battle somehow.

Does it mean that the other Spider-Men will get new looks as well, though?

2. Iron Spider Gadgets

4934322213e3214212412

The Upgraded Suit (or Advanced Suit as some fans call it) was badass, but those Iron Spider enhancements will make Peter even more formidable for this apparent trip through the Multiverse.

Those four extra arms are making a return, though we'd be willing to be Doc Ock makes short work of them when they come face-to-face; the Iron Spider suit could also be vulnerable to Electro's powers, leaving us to wonder whether that black and gold costume could be insulated against his attacks.

Marvel Studios must have known these toys would get us all talking, and minor details like these that feel like a big deal now could prove to be relatively minor in the grand scheme of No Way Home.

It's obvious a lot is being withheld, though, and that brings us to our final point...

1. Where Are The Villains?

4934322213e321421241237143331232

It's pretty standard for merchandise reveal like this to at least offer a glimpse at a film's lead villain, but Marvel clearly didn't want us to get our first look at the likes of Doc Ock and Electro to be in the form of a Funko Pop!

Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin remains the rumored big bad of No Way Home, and it's still too soon to say whether he'll be featured in marketing materials or saved as a surprise. The same could be said for those other villains, though, and there are ways the first trailer can get us excited for this movie without showing these baddies or even three Spider-Men.

That will disappoint some fans, but Marvel and Sony still have quite a few months to build hype.

This first wave of toys is a good start, though, and a trailer could be with us as soon as next week!

For a second I thought it was the trailer. Damn.

There are people out there still denying this is a multi verse movie but after that? Yeah I can't see anybody denying it after that. Until the trailer comes out that is the most official confirmation we are gonna get.

I'm excited.

@Mrcool210 - I wasn't really denying that it was a multiverse movie, was just denying that I wanted one. Now it seems I really can't get around it anymore, so I'll just have to accept

Mrcool210 - 8/2/2021, 3:27 AM
@bkmeijer - oh don't worry pal. I know you weren't denying it. I've seen your comments. I meant on other platforms as well. Reddit especially the marvel studios subreddit is actually kind of sad how in denial they are. After this they are still saying "No this ain't a multi verse movie remember Wanda vision? You guys are grasping at straws"
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 8/2/2021, 3:29 AM
@Mrcool210 - never really took reddit seriously, aside from a few leaks I've read. Still amazed The Rise of Skywalker's plot leaked like three months before the movie came out. Back then that leak read like a fan-fic.

As if we didn't know already (and as long as I've been denying wanting it), I guess this is about as much of a confirmation it will indeed be a multiverse story.

And with that, I'm thinking that leak I read a while back where a Captain America shield fitted to the Statue of Liberty is gonna be used as a conductor is true.

So Mysterio plot wrap up
Dr. Octopus
Electro
Alternate Realities with alternate Spider-men
Daredevil?
Sinister Six?
and Dr. Strange
plus Christmas, I think?

plus somehow wrapping up the trilogy

Surely this movie won't fall into the trap of too much stuff happening in the third outing.
When has that ever happened in a Spider-man movie.

God I hope they stick the landing on this one

bkmeijer2 - 8/2/2021, 3:30 AM
@SpaceAgent - difference is this is Marvel Studios. Civil War was packed too with characters and storylines, but overall I'm still amazed at how well that movie works. Same goes with Infinity War
SpaceAgent
SpaceAgent - 8/2/2021, 3:39 AM
@bkmeijer - I guess you are right.

But the fact that these movies are still tied to Sony always gives me a little bit of the chills.

I guess I just have been burned too many times.

But Yes you are right.

bkmeijer2 - 8/2/2021, 3:43 AM
@SpaceAgent - oh yeah I definitely understand your worry here.

We don't know what influence Sony has on the final project, but from the last two times they wanted more characters in a sequel, we both know how that turned out.

@SpaceAgent - On paper, Spider-Verse is just as convoluted, yet it's the internet's favorite Spider-Man movie.
-Miles Morales origin story
-Death of Spider-Man
-Alternate realities with alternate Spider-Men
-Kingpin
-Dr. Octopus
-Prowler
-Green Goblin
-Tombstone
-Scorpion

I hope they pack in as many characters from the Raimi trilogy as possible and Bruce Campbell's Ash & the Marvel Zombies too (the Zombie Hunter Spiderman action figure from Hot Toys looks amazing).

When Spidey was fighting the Mysterio holograms of Iron Man risen from the grave in the last movie, it was already looking great and getting a horror vibe without getting too scary for the general audience, so it's absolutely doable.

Release the damn trailer. Seriously getting annoying how there’s been little marketing for this.
Repian

Maybe Peter, MJ and Ned travel to another universe. So, they meet a variant of Doctor Strange. So the good Doctor will help them return to the Spider-Holland universe. Finally, they return to find that their home has been conquered.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 8/2/2021, 5:10 AM
@Repian - is that Shoveler Supreme from What If..., No Way Home or Multiverse of Madness? We're getting a lot of Doctor Strange soon, so I'm already getting lost where he'll show up
JamesPunn
JamesPunn - 8/2/2021, 9:48 AM
@bkmeijer - In one of the officially released stills from No Way Home, Peter seems to be standing in the Sanctum, and there's snow everywhere. Set photos also seem to indicate it's set around Christmas time, so maybe they haven't repaired the Hulk-shaped hole in the ceiling and Strange is shoveling snow out of the Sanctum?
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 8/2/2021, 11:37 AM
@JamesPunn - that could be it, but taking five years to atleast board it up (especially with access to magic) does feel kinda lazy
DiegoMD
DiegoMD - 8/2/2021, 5:27 AM
Say, what if (to diferentiate itself from ITSV) instead of Raimi's and Webb's Peters coming to the MCU, it's MCU Peter who travels to Raimi's and Webb's universes?
This would deviate from the leaks (not that I fully believe them).
