It's been nearly a year since Spider-Man: No Way Home blew us all away, and we now have what appears to be a positive update on Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures' plans for Spider-Man 4. Check it out!

Spider-Man: No Way Home remains one of Marvel Studios' best movies, leaving fans anxious to return to the wall-crawler's corner of the MCU. Recently, we've heard that Tom Holland has signed a new deal to reprise the role of Peter Parker, while we've even seen possible story details surface for his next trilogy.

Whether the web-slinger really will battle the Kingpin of Crime alongside Daredevil and eventually don the alien costume remains to be seen, but we may have a solid update on Spider-Man 4 for you.

According to The Cosmic Circus' Alex Perez, pre-production on the movie has started ramping up, likely meaning a script is in place and concept art is being created. That's speculation on our part, but as you can see from the Tweet below, things are certainly starting to look good for the upcoming sequel.

It's unclear whether Jon Watts would return to direct after devoting so much time to that first trilogy. He passed on Fantastic Four in order to take a break from the MCU and is currently working on Star Wars: Skeleton Crew for Disney+.

As for Sony making any sort of announcement at next month's Comic Con Experience event in Brazil, it was confirmed yesterday evening that they won't be in attendance. Still, we do wonder if the studio could choose the one-year anniversary of Spider-Man: No Way Home to make an announcement!

Check out what Willow star Tony Revolori had to tell us about possibly returning as Flash Thompson in Spider-Man 4 in the video below.

I suppose they have to move fast for the sake of Holland/the character's age. Though by this point I don't think it's a strict issue; Holland ain't gonna suddenly have a massive appearance shift, and he's more than made the role his own by now.

@MosquitoFarmer - From 2016-2018 he was always 5 years older than his character. If they didn't blip him, Peter would have caught up to Holland's age in Endgame.

@MosquitoFarmer - holland age doesn’t matter anymore, he took his break and now Sony plans on going back to the bi-yearly release schedule

@MosquitoFarmer - I don't think it matters. Holland looks like he'll always look younger than he actually is. And they can always move him into his college years and beyond. I think it'll be fine.

@CorndogBurglar - I was also just thinking as far as how long Holland may want to play the character, especially the further it gets away from the people he started with for all these years now. But I guess that'll boil down to whatever his new contract entails, and obviously Sony will be the ones itching to make the next movie happen as soon as possible.

Sinister Six
Spider-Man Vs Venom
Gang War (with Daredevil and Black Cat)

@marvel72 - thats the trilogy I want as well, just in the opposite order. Spider-Man and Daredevil taking on Kingpin is my dream Spider-Man 4
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/26/2022, 7:18 AM
@marvel72 - You know it's crazy to think that we're now moving into a 4th MCU Spidey film and there's not even so much as a mention to an MCU Norman Osborn. How can we keep going much further without having a movie about Green Goblin? He's only Spidey's arch nemesis and most important villain. And Sony certainly isn't doing anything with him.

marvel72 - 11/26/2022, 7:20 AM
@bkmeijer1 - Yeah not in that order just a few ideas they could go with.
marvel72
marvel72 - 11/26/2022, 7:23 AM
@CorndogBurglar - It needs to happen, having Norman Osborn opens the door for Sinister Six, Thunderbolts and Dark Avengers.

But it's Disney Marvel, they don't like following the comics.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/26/2022, 7:27 AM
@marvel72 - Thats true. Remember back in the day when it felt like you could pretty much chalk everything up to either a 616 version or Ultimate version of things? Or a mixture of both?
marvel72
marvel72 - 11/26/2022, 7:30 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Marvel Studios use to be the place comic book fans could get a more comic book accurate portrayals of its characters, little tweaks here and there but compared to what Fox was doing with The X-Men, it was more accurate.

But now....

Taonrey - 11/26/2022, 7:54 AM
@CorndogBurglar - honestly doubt we get Norman, definitely after no way home. Same way I doubt we will get another attempt and the phoenix saga
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 11/26/2022, 7:55 AM
@marvel72 - Does it really open the door? He’s never really had much to do with the Six in the comics. He’s far from a marquee member of the Thunderbolts, even as the concept exists in the comics. Dark Avengers kinda needs him though I agree.

bkmeijer1 - 11/26/2022, 8:09 AM
@CorndogBurglar @marvel72 - with Kingpin, Venom, Kraven and the Sinister Six, I don't think we really need Norman Osborn in the Spider-Man movies.

We already have seen Spider-Man take on multiple Goblins on screen, so I much rather see Spider-Man face a really evil Ock and maybe leave Norman (as Iron Patriot/HAMMER director) for a Dark Reign sequel to Secret Invasion.

@bkmeijer1 - Dark Reign was a great story, well I loved it.
marvel72
marvel72 - 11/26/2022, 8:59 AM
@OmegaBlack13 - He called the shots with Hammer/Thunderbolts and after Secret Invasion, he did form The Dark Avengers.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 11/26/2022, 9:12 AM
@marvel72 - same here. Really wanna see it made into a show with Osborn and the Dark Avengers. Same with Siege.

And I think Dark Reign and Siege would go hand in hand really well with future appearances of Namor, Hood, Hercules (instead of Ares) and Thor
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/26/2022, 11:42 AM
@bkmeijer1 - Dark Reign was cool, but we already knew Norman as a villain. He had a long history of being Spidey's worst enemy before that. I'm not sure bringing in Norman just to do that makes sense. He should be established as Green Goblin first, and then struggling with his Goblin personality while he's trying to run the Dark Avengers. For me it would be a disservice to Norman to just have him be a bad guy business man that makes his own evil Avengers.
OmegaBlack13
OmegaBlack13 - 11/26/2022, 12:19 PM
@marvel72 - I’m aware. I’m saying that’s like one 3 year section of Thunderbolts history, could easily do lots of Thunderbolts stuff from the comics without Norman opening the door. And yeah, as I said, Dark Avengers does need him but I think that mostly works after years of having him as a Spider-Man villain.
ThorArms
ThorArms - 11/26/2022, 1:14 PM
@CorndogBurglar - there's so many other villains they still need to do. They can introduce him but I wouldn't want to see another Goblin for a while

EskimoJ - 11/26/2022, 1:41 PM
@marvel72 - And yet, here you'll remain.
marvel72
marvel72 - 11/26/2022, 2:23 PM
@EskimoJ - I remain because I can and I am allowed to share my opinion good or bad,I just have a glimmer of hope that the MCU will one day return to the good times I.E Phases 1-3 but as of now phase 4 has been shit for the most part.

Spider-Man:No Way Home
Doctor Strange And The MultiVerse Of Madness
Werewolf By Night
WandaVision

Are the highlights, now if I have answered your comment, you can move on.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 11/26/2022, 3:13 PM
@CorndogBurglar - oh yeah, that's definitely a big part of it.

Reason I still would like to see it, is because Marvel can probably put it's own spin on it. It already managed to adapt great comics stories, whilst still excluding many parts from it.
Timerider84
Timerider84 - 11/27/2022, 2:02 AM
@bkmeijer1 - Agreed, throw in She Hulk, Black Cat and a mid credit cameo by The Punisher.
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 11/27/2022, 5:42 AM
@Timerider84 - I really hope they include Black Cat as well too. She-Hulk could be fun too
VictorAlonzo
VictorAlonzo - 11/27/2022, 5:52 AM
@Taonrey - Now would be a great time to introduce a new Norman. He should be a marginally successful scientist, who's power hungry but not all out corrupt... yet.

Spidey could work for Oscorp, for both the scientific opportunities AND the chance to keep a close eye on Norman, hoping to prevent him from becoming the man he witnessed in NWH. My pic for new Osborne:

I want a scene with the Punisher at the beginning in parody with Frank Castle’s first appearance.

@ScaryTerry - I mean, they could do a whole movie of that.

@ScaryTerry - Wouldn't it be cool seeing The Punisher on a opposite roof top taking shots at Spider-Man.
homage to he's first appearance cover.
