Spidey To Get A More Traditional Costume In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2?
While Marc Webb was promoting the release of The Amazing Spider-Man on DVD/Blu-ray he mentioned that the wall crawler would receive a new suit for the sequel. Today, a new rumor suggests that the new costume will be more traditional. So, no more silver shoes?
If you liked the suit, great. If you didn't like the suit, than you should be happy. Either way a change to the suit should come as no surprise as a toy company cannot be expected to put out the same Spider-Man figures and make boku bucks. What's interesting is that Nuke The Fridge has a source that claims the next Spidey suit will be more traditional. Which probably means something along the lines of what Tobey Maguire wore in Sam Raimi's original trilogy, but now with the proper raised webbing.
A source close to the production of “The Amazing Spider-Man” has revealed that the costume Peter Parker’s alter-ego dons to fight crime will be different. For years, hardcore fans have been screaming for an outfit with an original look that’s faithful to the one worn in the Spider-Man comic books. Now Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures are listening and will deliver the dry cleaning and goods. Fans can rejoice that they’ve been heard and can proudly say they have won!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be directed by Marc Webb from a script written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Jeff Pinkner and James Vanderbilt. The film will star Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Sally Field as Aunt May, Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson, and Jamie Foxx is rumored to the main villain, Electro. The sequel will swing into theaters May 2, 2014.
