Emma Stone Teases The Fate Of 'Gwen Stacy' In THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Comic book fans already have an idea of what could well become of Miss Stacy in Marc Webb's sequel, but of course nothing is certain. Now in a recent interview, Emma Stone makes it sound like we're definitely on the right track! Possible major SPOILERS ahead..

Emma Stone called in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to discuss her role in Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man 2. The actress revealed that "fans will find out more about the fate of her character Gwen" when a special clip airs this Thursday on the official movie Facebook page before being repeated again during the Super Bowl on Sunday. Does this mean we'll see Gwen die in a clip? Highly unlikely..but going from what Stone says about that particular controversial comic book arc, we will see it in the actual movie.

”Basically they’re going to see the continuation of the Spider Man story, which is the hero’s journey, and he’s up against a whole new squadron of villains and he’s struggling with promises he’s made in the last movie and the consequences of making those and what it’s like to be in love with somebody who you promised to not see anymore. I think the intention the whole time has been to tell Gwen’s story has closely to the comic as possible."

When we brought you some exclusive Amazing Spider-Man 2 info a while back we told you "not to get too attached to Gwen", and Stone all but confirmed that we will indeed see her character shuffle off this mortal coil in the movie. Still, we don't know until we know - this could all be a bit of misdirection. Are you glad Webb seems to be following the comic when it comes to Gwen's fate? Or would you rather see her live? Sound off below.
