SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Concept Art Reveals A Humanoid Take On The Monstrous Hydro-Man

Spider-Man: Far From Home Hydro-Man was a faceless Elemental in the sequel but a new piece of concept art reveals a far more humanoid take on the classic comic book villain. Check it out after the jump...

Spider-Man: Far From Home offered a unique new take on many of the wall-crawler's classic comic book villains as they were transformed into interdimensional Elementals...who we would later learn were just Mysterio's illusions. Now, though, Marvel Studios Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding has revealed a very different take on Hydro-Man.

Considerably more human-like in appearance, this version of the character would have obviously differed to the one Peter Parker and Quentin Beck fought in Venice, Italy, because he resembles a bigger version of the Hydro-Man (a.k.a. Morris Bench) we all know from the source material.

While Bench was namedropped, it seems doubtful that Marvel Studios has any plans for him moving forward. Instead, Kraven the Hunter remains a prime candidate to be Spidey's next foe and many fans would love to see a fresh take on Norman Osborn/Green Goblin, especially if that leads to the formation of the Dark Avengers or possibly even the Sinister Six.

We'll have to wait and see on that front but check out this new concept art below:

That wasn't actually meant to be Hydro-man, right?

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - its at least a reference for hydro man, what with them mentioning his human identity.

@Origame - Yeah, they sort of gave themselves an out with the news reference to Morris Bench and getting in a chemical accident. In the context of the movie, it is another sign of "fake news" that goes through the movie ("Mysterio is the truth"), but if they want to bring in the real Hydro-Man, they could say Morris Bench really did have an accident and became water-like and so when the Venice creature appeared, the people who knew Bench reported it was him.

@DalekCraigWasson - yeah, but it also limits anyone who wants to use him. They can't give him an origin since they already gave him one, so when he does appear he's just going to seem like a lame version of the water elemental.

Hydro Man is one of those villains, where if he wasn't so dumb, he'd be practically unstoppable.

I hope the secondary villains of the next movie are these two.
