SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME Director Reveals Why Two Key HOMECOMING Characters Don't Return In The Sequel

We learned months ago that [SPOILER] and [SPOILER] wouldn't factor into Spider-Man: Far From Home, and now director Jon Watts has elaborated on his decision to not include them in the sequel...

Spider-Man: Homecoming ended with Mac Gargan trying to get the wall-crawler's secret identity out of Adrian Toomes, and when the casting process for Spider-Man: Far From Home was taking place, it was reported that both characters would return for the sequel.

Well, it was back in May that was finally debunked and there's no sign of Michael Keaton or Michael Mando in the Marvel Studios movie. Now, though, director Jon Watts has explained why that's the case. "We never really found the right moment to do something like that. It's always just about it being right for the story and not just some sort of shoehorned-in cameo," he explained.

However, it doesn't sound like the door is completely closed when it comes to a possible return. "But I do love the idea that they're both still out there, and I like the idea that as we move forward with these films, we're building out this rich world that we can continually draw from."

Fans will be hoping that means the formation of the Sinister Six somewhere down the line, and there has to be some sort of payoff to that tease. After all, who knows what happened to both men following the Snap, and assuming they weren't dusted, there's a very good chance they're now free!

What do you guys think about Watts' remarks about the villains not returning in the sequel?
