Product Placement Rules These Cool New SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMINGS Stills

As a result of their partnership with Audi, Marvel has released two new Spider-Man: Homecoming stills highlighting the wall-crawler's homemade costume and Flash Thompson's fancy ride...

Yesterday, we got a very cool video showing Peter Parker taking his driving test and that's now been followed with two brand new stills featuring scenes from Spider-Man: Homecoming. As you can see, they come from a point in the movie which sees the wall-crawler back in his homemade suit and, for reasons unknown, he's clearly found a reason to confront Flash Thompson and his shocked date.

This iteration of Flash will clearly be a rich kid rather than a football star, something which might make more sense these days given Peter's humble background. There are, after all, many ways to be a bully so perhaps this version of Flash won't be as cliched as early versions of his comic book counterpart!

Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Laura Harrier, Tony Revolori, Tyne Daly, Bokeem Woodbine, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr., and almost countless others, Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming is directed by Jon Watts and will be released on July 7th, this year.

LMFAO, this is nothing, man!
Also, don't forget about Sony, coz something like this is BOUND TO HAPPEN! :P

I still remember those big ass tv screens with that big fat Sony logo in the previous Spidey movies! XD

If he eventually goes into the military and becomes agent venom, I'm fine with whatever they're doing now.

@noahthegrand - Cool. Because there's a subplot of his that concludes with a sex change.

@noahthegrand - I think Hardy's Brock is going to be the Agent Venom... (of the MCU... [frick]ing hell, that can't be right.)

But I've always loved the post-High School Flash. He and Peter being genuine friends once they got all the bullshit hormones out of their system was always great. And one of the things I liked about TASM was that moment when Flash tried to comfort Peter after Ben died. Flash is so tragically misunderstood by people who just want him to be a Saved by the Bell bully stereotype.

Spidey's costume from Modell's is better than any Xmen movie leather outfit I've seen in my opinion!!!!

@incredibleTalk - I love me a homemade costume. And yeah, it's better than the leather daddy stuff. But Wolverine's jackets have always been on point...

(Actually, I was looking for pictures to prove my point, and the only one that really looks descent is from Last Stand...)

All of the others are a bit plasticky and new looking, which isn't what Wolverine's jacket should look like. It should look like it's been worn for twenty years and beaten to hell and back, not fresh off the rack. Last Stand's looked like it had some wear and tear...

Ugh, [frick] me, it doesn't even really look that good... I tried to defend Fox, I goddamn TRIED...

Sorry, that first pic is from DOFP, and I meant to say it was one of the jackets that looked too new and good. (Yeah, in context it's fine, but it's not very Wolverine feeling. It's the best fitting one except that it looks a little too good for Logan.)

Reminder that Sony are intentionally trying to damage the marketing for the solo movie so that they get full rights back after Homecoming 2. Spider-man's involvement in Civil War and Infinity War will already boost interest and if the solo movies do well then the MCU would just try to get full rights to Spider-man - if the solo movies do badly then the MCU would consider releasing Spider-man back to Sony and just have him appear in crossover/event movies.

That said, yeah, hype levels are dropping more and more each time I see this sort of thing. It's Sony in charge of marketing. They are intentionally showing stuff to put you off seeing it and to weaken the movie.

@Scarilian - that's a baseless claim

@ShellHead -

No, your accusation of it being baseless lacks any attempt of fact checking. My claim is supported by every aspect involving Sony;

- Sony are in a rough financial position and the Spider-man movies have always earned over $700m for them

- Sony are in charge of Homecoming's marketing including Trailers, TV spots, promotional material basically everything that people are having problems with

- Sony only made the deal to boost interest in Spider-man to reach the Raimi series box office numbers

- Sony have every intention of using Tom Holland to get more popularity for their spin-off films

- Sony clearly have no desire to actually abide with the MCU despite wanting to profit of Spider-man appearing in them

- Amy Pascal has went on record stating that they may not stay in the MCU after Homecoming 2.

- Amy Pascal has been on record stating she wants Tom Holland in the spin-off movies and tried to pass off the spin-off movies as part of the MCU (regardless of whether they are or not it's clear they want to use the MCU to boost interest in Venom and the Silver & Black movie)

I would check out 'Midnight's Edge' if i were you. They examine Tom Rothman, Amy Pascal, why Sony would want the solo movies to underperform compared to their own previous movies, why the event movies are more helpful than the solo movies and even predicted the idea that they would either force spin-off's to be loosely connected to the MCU OR simply that they would lie about the connection.
