SILK May be in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING; Was Zendaya's Role Supposed To Be A Plot Twist?

As you may have seen earlier today, this casting sheet showcased the names of several previously unknown characters in Spider-Man: Homecoming, including revealing Tiffany Espensen's character as one named 'Cindy'.

On Reddit, one user pointed out that Espensen had followed Robbie Thompson and Humberto Ramos, both of whom work on the popular Silk comic book, indicating that the character she is playing is in fact Cindy Moon.

In related news EIC of Screencrush Mike Sampson endorsed the rumors of "Michelle" being a cover for MJ, saying this on Twitter yesterday:

So it seems Marvel plans to 'Khan-Into-Darkness' MJ in this film. Too bad the surprise was blown early!

Apparently, rumors have said the reveal works really well. But, idk if I buy that she's MJ.

I don't see MJ showing up until the sequel.

@ComicsBornAndBred - MJ shouldn't be revealed until Peter is in college.

@ComicsBornAndBred - Same thought. I don't think they would make MJ attend the same college as Peter or at least not in the first year. I think it would be awesome if she were teased through the movie as a date for Peter by aunt May and MJ's aunt Anna and appear at the end of the movie saying the line: "Face it, Tiger! You hit the jackpot." It would be a great end for the movie if it is a John Hughes like film, as they say. Besides Zendaya has already filmed a lot of scenes, more than MJ should appear in. And 1. doesn't have red hair on the set photos, 2. does look a lot more like Michelle Gonzales. And any way, it would be ridiculous if she were MJ because they spent such a huge amount of time searching for the perfect actor to play Peter Parker and she was added to the cast so easily. MJ should be also cast carefully because she is the next most important character in a Spider-man movie. And anyway, it's just a freaking rumor, I don't understand why all the news sites have published it and some don't even say it's a rumor and go as far as saying it's official. Some guy even made a request on IMDB to get Zendaya's character changed to MJ, but I and surely other have made requests to be changed back to Michelle until it's officialy confirmed or disconfirmed.

Love Silk. IF (BIIIIIG IF) she appears, or is setup for the future in some way, I'd be cool with that.

Why make it a plot twist or surprise in the film? Is she under witness protection or something?
