Stan Lee Reveals Least Favorite Marvel Movie Character; Talks More About Zendaya In SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING

Stan "The Man" Lee normally has nothing but good things to say about Marvel movies regardless of which studio they hail from, but he didn't like the way this particular character was portrayed back in 2005.

Talking in a recent interview with Comic Book Resources to promote his final appearance at Fan Expo Canada this weekend, Stan Lee was asked by the site if there's one particular comic book adaptation he takes issue with. The creator normally has nothing but good things to say about even the worst Marvel movie, but it turns out that he's just as disappointed with Doctor Doom's portrayal as the rest of us.

In fact, Lee told the site that he wasn't at all fond of Julian McMahon's version of the iconic villain in 2005's Fantastic Four movie. "I was a little disappointed in the very first ‘Fantastic Four,’ because I didn’t care for how Doctor Doom was portrayed. But other than that, I thought the movie was great. And the actors were terrific." That's generous, especially as none of the heroes fared too well either.

"I believe they captured the spirit and the intent of all of the characters, and I’m delighted with how they all turned out," Lee continued. "None of them have disappointed me. In fact, I think all of these movies have come out better than everybody ever thought they would…Even the early ones were good. Maybe I’m just my own biggest fan." That's a diplomatic answer, though it could just be that the creator is genuinely happy to see the character he helped create brought to life on the big screen!

Finally, Lee was asked to once again share his thoughts on the news that Zendaya is playing Mary Jane Watson in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it turns out that he's more than happy to see a non-white actress take on the role of Peter Parker's love interest. "I think it’s a great idea. I wish I had thought of it. I can’t wait to see that gal, I can’t wait to see that movie, and I think the public will love it."

I agree with him on the fantastic four thing. Atleast he isn't going back on what he said cause I remember when the FF movie was coming out he honestly was excited like he seemed more excited about that than when the first Spiderman movie came out. just look in interviews and even the actors were stoke; Jessica Alba (personally I think she did good and could have done better under another director) did so much research for the role before auditioning and she brought up how she tried to fight for them to make Sur more of a strong female in those movies just I don't know if the FF movie was tweaked it kind of feels like it could fit in the MCU.
