James Cameron Expresses Interest In Making Spidey Film!

James Cameron has only one super hero interest, and that is your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!

"Spider-Man was the only one I ever wanted to do," Cameron told MTV News. "I wasn't really personally that driven to do a superhero movie per se, but I wanted to do Spider-Man because he was my guy when I was 14."



Sam Raimi is directing Spider-Man 4, so all you Cameron fans will have to wait awhile for any possibility of a Spider-Man Cameron directed film. But how cool would it be to see Parker painting a hot MJ naked (sorry Kirsten, not you). There are plenty of superhero flicks for Cameron to get involved with but according to him, that aint happening.

"Spider-Man was the s--- and everybody else sucked," he said of his feelings on superheroes. "Even though I admire some of the other films, I don't feel the need to jump on that bandwagon."

James Cameron almost had the first Spider-Man movie gig. But legal issues with Sony and Marvel and some other third party money hungry bastards messed it all up. Raimi did an awesome job with the first two Spidey flicks, no one will doubt that. The third (turd) Spidey flick was lackluster at best. If Raimi blows the 4th Spidey flick into bullshit land then, myself, and others will be calling for Cameron to take the reigns.

GERANT. Kirsten is a fugly ass chick who in no way at all is what MJ was made out to be in the comics.

and for the most part, while the 1st-2 Spider-Man movies were decent and masterpieces when compared to the 3rd, they could have been better, the smart ass side of Peter has been basically dropped because Tobey isn't a good enough actor to portray that. for the most part this series would have been better with better casting and there are a number of directors who could have done it better than Raimi

I thought she was a good MJ, whether she was quite as hot as the comic version is only a minor difference.

I loved Raimi's movies..i even enjoyed the 3rd one! Obviously it should have been much better but i think he will redeem himself with the 4th one.

Just FYI, I don't know if this has been brought up yet but, Cameron, as the article said, was set up to do a Spider-Man movie and was going to cast LEONARDO DICAPRIO as freakin' Peter Parker so thank the Lord God Almighty that he did not get the reigns for the film.

i wanted spidery 3 to work i really did. It was like when I found out santa didnt exist (sorry teabag he doesnt) but i still wanted to believe....I was like 17 when that movie came out im 20 now and i still cringe when i watch it becuase i was hoping it would it all out of the water....it didnt...damnit my girlfriend at the time looked at me and said....wow that sucks cant wait for pirates.... anywho whats up

I read Cameron's Spidey script a while ago. It was decent, and you could tell he had some cool ideas for the special effects, but ultimately Raimi's version was better than what he wanted to do. Cameron wanted to do Electro and Sandman as the villains, and while he had some cool ideas for what to do with them, he kinda rushed their origins, and didn't really give them solid motivation for being villains.

I would love to see a Cameron directed Spider-Man film. Raimi better watch his ass.

Also...DiCaprio would have made a way better Peter Parker than Tobey. No question.

Kirsten was a mediocre MJ, not bad, but certainly not a good representation of the comic. Similar with Tobey, he made a really good high school Peter, but doesn't work very well as a slightly older Peter.

I found James Cameron's Spiderman script online once--it was pretty good and I wouldn't have minded seeing it brought to the big screen...although I was confused at the fact that there was a character named Weiner in it...

After that Spidey 3 fiasco, I'd rather have anybody else but Raimi making a new movie. BTW, whoever idiot in Comic Book Movie who said doesn't wanna see Kirsten naked, something's seriously wrong with you. She is a beautiful woman and I'm pretty sure you ain't exactly Brad Pitt yourself.
