"I know nothing, to be honest," Lerman told MTV News. "As for that movie, Marc Webb has got to be one of the most talented directors out there. Whatever he does, whatever Sony does with the film, they're going to make an awesome movie. But I know nothing about it."

"Basically I was just a fan. Just a guy who was interested in the movie and I was just hoping to be considered for it. As of right now, I don't know where they're going with it. Whoever they get and whatever happens with it, I'm sure they're going to make an awesome movie out of it."

"No," the actor said when asked whether he’d ever had the chance to try on the suit. "No."

It'd be a real shame not to use the kid. He's the best choice as far as I can see... WTF Sony? WTF...?

@gtrman-LMAO!

It is so funny when actors say they want a part and then totally try to shy away from their own statement. At least that Donald Glover doesn't.

No to this TURD of an actor! : P

Hell he'd sink SPIDER-MAN for sure!

Let him be TIM DRAKE or something in a TV show! : D

Heh heh, nah he's okay for a DOOMBOT lol!

Good....this kid is NOT Peter Parker.

GusGalaxy - 6/4/2010, 4:56 PM
i say give him another shot, he's my #1 choice for spiderman! no donald glover (although i have nothing against him as an actor, he is just not peter parker!), or any of the other 5-6 guys rumored to have been have screen-tested for the role, sorry, but just my opinion.. lerman would be ultimate at playing the ultimate version, lol..

I can't think of a single actor to play Peter Parker besides Toby Maguire.

Yeah, this guy seems like the best guy to play Spider-Man. It's a shame he's not being considered at this time.

After seeing this guy in 3: 10 To Yuma, I honestly couldnt think of anyone better to play Peter Parker in the reboot (and let's face it - he's 100x better than the likes of Efron, Hutchinson and Donald [frick]ing Glover!) so I'm disappointed to hear that his involvement with it was really little more than complete BS!

Dammit!
he's the best choice so far,

Ok then, who will play parker? the furious five contender?

thats BS!

@JoshW but have you seen percy jackson. if not dont bother it sucks. i would prefer any of the 5 or donald glover over this shit stain. And why the effron hate 17 again is actually hilarious i think he could be a great spidey. not attacking you or anything just throwing that out there. i still would much rather see the guy from reaper take over but he is way to old

@MovieTheaterLad why do you always attack LEEE in every article?

@bleedthefreak16: You can't judge an actor on one film with a horrible script, you should see the indie films Logan Lerman plays in such as 3:10 to Yuma,My One and Only, and Meet Bill. In those movies Lerman shows promise but sadly that turd Lightning thief adaptation made him look bad.

But I always wonder, why do people tend to remember an actors bad roles before they even think about their good ones?

I like him! I think he is our best choice yet! And you know what else. I think maybe, he already got the part. I think the studio doesn't want him talking about it (like he did before) so he is being shady and keeping tight lipped about it.

@LEEE - why don't you like him? And do you have a favorite?
McLovin
McLovin - 6/4/2010, 10:57 PM
@MTL - I agree with everything you said. LEEE is as opinionated as he is smart. I think more often than not, he's misunderstood. Come on LEEE, elaborate more on your rants dude! Their funny as shit, but we want to know the method behind the madness!!! LOL

But seriously LEEE, who's your pick for spidey?

real shame he's no longer in consideration. Logan Lerman still the best choice for me at least when up against the shortlist of 5 and donald glover. His indie movie roles show his range and those videos on youtube he wrote, directed, acted in though a bit juvenile (he was what 12-15 when he did them) show a healthy sense of humor

austen - 6/4/2010, 11:54 PM
@Odin's Beard - he was just asked in an interview and i think was completely honest when he said he was starting to have conversations with the studio and was just interested. never said he was up for the part and after that he never really talked about the spiderman role again only to say that he's hoping to be considered. maybe sony and webb we're looking for something/one else or something came up and talks led to nowhere

TheQuestion - 6/5/2010, 4:04 AM
He was good in 3:10 to Yuma. It's sad, but out of all the names mentioned for this role, Lerman in by FAR the best choice, and he never even got a foot in the door. Just goes to show Sony doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

I really don't care about this movie franchise anymore.
Thanks to Spiderman 3.

He seems better then the current rumored people to play pete, although that's not saying much. I really think Tobey should be parker again...the guy doesn't even age either hes 34 but looks 29 tops.

McLovin
McLovin - 6/6/2010, 9:52 PM
@ Catwoman - ummm ... did you watch Spider-man 3? Cause it SUCKED! Besides, from what we've heard, Sam Raimi and Sony could not agree on certain details of the script so they decided to pull the plug. But most of us here have arrived at the conclusion that Sony was prob planning a reboot after the 4th movie anyway. Since they couldn't get the 4th one going in the time allotted for it, they just pushed for the reboot to be done ahead of schedule and get this movie done.

p.s. Sony: GET ER DONE!
