actually... he'll defeat the lizard with enough webbing left to rig up the stage lights for the prom... the last 30 minutes will be corny jokes and teenybopper romance and dancing to neon trees or someother overrated godawful band

I think all these people who are comparing this movie's plot to the hulk will look like idiots in the end.

I would bet anything that the story lines are not similar in any way shape or form. I just think Peter has all of his dads old research papers, and that's what Connor's needs to make the transformation.

When Connors says "You have no idea what you are" he is referencing Spider-man, because he knows he and Peter are one in the same.

Connors figures out who Spider-man is, and then gives Peter his diatribe about not knowing who he really is.

Perhaps he ends up revealing dark secrets about his parent. But I am certain Peters dad does zero testing on Peter at a young age. He may have been bitten by the Spider at a young age and his father was monitoring him. But his dad didn't do any Hulk esque tests.

To be fair, Ang Lee's Hulk didn't suck because they altered the origin. It sucked because it sucked.
I don't remember Bruce Wayne being taught by the League of Shadows in the comics, or his early attempt to kill Joe Chill, or Rachel Dawes...ever existing, but Batman Begins and Nolan's films to date have been fantastic. Sometimes, change is good, sometimes bad. Sometimes change is just -as- good, but something new and different.

i hope your right ashes... i truly do.

i guess the only thing that really bugs me is the personality of peter parker in this one... too transformers inspired for me... and i cant root for him, cuz he seems like kind of an asshole and i hope he gets his ass kicked in the film repeatedlly...

at least tobey macguire sold the part of a timid nerdy outcast... you kinda felt bad for his awkward ways and being run over by his richkid best friend for the girl of his dreams..

but ill go see this in the theater anyway, im just preparing myself to walk out if necessary

WARNING POTENTIAL SPOILER IN THE MIDDLE OF POST ! DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW !!!!!!
















Basically there have been set photos of Captain Stacy dead because of collapsed rubble. I also have a source that tells me, Captain Stacy does know who Spider-Man is by the end of the film. He tells Peter how sorry he is before he dies and tells Peter he is proud of him. The scene ends with a shot of Spider-Man holding Captain Stacy in his arms as he passes away. That funeral scene is his. Gwen Stacy is furious about her father's death and is not happy with Peter at all.

@gastitdk: This is not a definite but I have a pretty good source. Maybe that is why some of the Sony Executives were not too sure about it. It doesn't have the typical Hollywood ending.

I wish people would quit saying that this is like Ange Lee's Hulk.
We haven't even seen the movie. You don't know the plot at all. Also to the people saying he is holding his hand like that because he already has spider DNA, think about what you're saying.
The only reason Spider-Man holds his hands like that is because he designed the Shooters to only be Activated with a certain finger combination, so it doesn't accidentally shoot off, and in this movie Peter uses the web shooters. duh.. So that is obviously just a little Easter egg in the photo, and that is all.

The secret behind his parents seems more like the Ultimate story line to me.
Minus Shield and Hulk of course.

If you really think about it, Spider-man shouldn't be this happy go lucky character. I'm glad they are giving him a more rebellious punk attitude. To paraphrase Avengers lets take a head count of people close to Spider-man that will die or leave him in these movies.

His mother
His father
His surrogate father Uncle Ben
Captain Stacy
Gwen Stacy
Possibly his mentor in Dr. Connors

Like I said, even Bruce Wayne would feel for this kid.

It's sad that it has become Ang Lee's Hulk. To be fair he had little creative control over the story, and to his credit it was a beautifully shot movie. I actually don't think it's that bad of a movie. It's an interesting character study and gets unfairly shit on and lumped in with Jonah Hex and Green Lantern.

Hell, Hulk and The Incredible Hulk are only separated by 5% points on Rotten Tomatoes. I understand a Hulk movie should be mindless action, and his movie was a little heavy on the psychology but it isn't unwatchable.

Plus, it is probably one of the most artistic movies you will see. I love how it was edited and the cinematography is top notch. I hope Ang Lee gets a chance to redeem himself with another comic book movie franchise, because he really is an amazing director.

Or it could be that Peter is the "Work that would change the world" which Conors says he and his dad were working on, maybe it were a mutagen that allows dna to combine or something and his dad hid it inside his son.

When I look at that picture, I immediately think of Ultimate Spiderman, the issue where Peter finds that tape from his childhood and looks up... Eddie Brock. It would be cool to have a hint or two at Eddie in this or the next movie. I'm hoping Venom, if he indeed makes an appearance in this series, is done justice.
