Nightcrawler Actor Exits Spider-Man Musical - Broadway Production Dying a Slow Death (Thank GOD!)

Nightcrawler Actor Exits Spider-Man Musical - Broadway Production Dying a Slow Death (Thank GOD!)

Problems keep piling up for the still-in-limbo production of the massive new Julie Taymor-directed musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

Although the troubled tuner, which features songs by U2's Bono and The Edge, still has its Peter Parker (Reeve Carney), the show has now lost both of its "name" stars. Following Evan Rachel Wood's departure comes the news that Alan Cumming is also out of the production. Cumming cited his busy schedule with the CBS drama The Good Wife as the reason for his inability to stay with the production to play Spiderman's nemesis, the Green Goblin. Spider-Man still has yet to set a date for its Broadway opening.

I think I can live with this never being made! Tell you what Marvel - save the money and put it towards making a decent Spider-Man movie rather than some teenage high school crap! :P

I can't believe so many fans are totally closed minded to the idea of spider-man jumping into different forms of media. What better hero to be the center of the biggest Broadway Musical ever then the city's own web head. I know musicals aren't every ones favorite thing in the world, but to blindly bash it when a successful production like this would bring this genre to a whole different group of people and take it to even greater heights is kind of upsetting

Alan Cumming hit the jackpot when they didn't sign him for X-Men 3. He's like the guy who played Tank in The Matrix and wasn't signed for the sequels. Lucky bastards.

maybe he will sign on for x-men 4,along with josh hollowell for gambit, daniel cudmore, shawn ashmore, james marsden, ben foster, anna paquin, halley berry, hugh jackman, patric stewart, vinnie jones, ian mcellan, robecca romane, leiv schreiber, and for the new cast topher grace for beak, and i would love to see sinister, apocalypse, chamber, husk, angel salvador, glob herman, anole, and some cameos from other new x-men,and generation-x mutants.also omega red needs to be in a x-men film, marrow, the real physloc, sauron, and a real version of the blob where he stands like nine feet tall and his mutation is his wieght not super punch.bring on x-men 4,first class, new x-men,generation-x,wolverine 2,and district-x.

never should have been considered to begin with. whoever had the idea to make spider-man a play/musical was an idiot.
