While it's been rumored for months, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have announced that Spider-Man: No Way Home is officially coming back to theaters this fall with Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version, an extended cut of the 2021 billion-dollar blockbuster.
Currently, the Jon Watts-directed film is set to reopen in the United States and Canada on September 2, with more countries expected to be announced soon.
It's been heavily speculated since the movie's initial run that Sony intended on re-releasing the film at some point in 2022, and those murmurs became even more persistent when the No Way Home's home video release failed to include any of the deleted scenes that were promised.
Storywise, it's unlikely the new cut will be drastically different than the original, but we should expect a heavy dose of new footage including all three Spideys together as well as possibly some more Matt Murdock and the multiverse villains. There's also a chance some VFX work may be updated for the new cut.
Expect Spider-Man: No Way Home - The More Fun Stuff Version to get re-released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and Digital sometime this winter as well, likely just in time for Christmas.
